I hope this isn't bordering on obnoxious, but I started wondering what pictures and postcards I had of the place. So here they are! (I needed another post anyway.)
I don't say much about it in the journal I kept. It was the final stop after a long trip, so I know we were just happy to walk around.. and it was one of those just gorgeous places.
No smart alec, I turned it off after Ferrell put a bullet through a priest during confessional. I'm sure he has his reasons, but I'm in no mood. Not funny enough from the get go to carry on.
I'm not sure how we wanna do this. 2 people are going home tonight so we need to pick those, and 2 immunities I'm thinking. Should we pick 2 rewards, too? I doubt they'd have 2, even 1 really this close to the end. And then guess who'll win. Wanna say 10 pts if you guess winner, 5 points if it's your player?
That's a lot of points up in the air in one night. But the only way someone can catch you in the original draft, is if they get pert near everything right.
We just finished too. Not even one vote for Sugar..that's a shame. I thought she played a good game. Oh, I've got tons to say. What was with the overly bitter jury? I was so glad Sugar flipped off Corrine..that was just an awful thing to say. Ok, gonna watch the reunion thingy...
"anything you can do, I can do better..." You wish you had that Man vs. Food job, dontcha? I'm up late..gettin that elf thing together. (check your email)
Too bad Survivor's over. I'm always a little bittersweet watchin the reunion special...~sigh~ Yeah ok, I'll get a life.
BUT....really lookin forward to Lost startin in Jan!
Well apparently we had a heat wave last night. Topped out at 49, melted almost all of it, now we're dropping to the 20s. You have a wind chill factor!
B informed me this morning that I need to go to Target cuz his shoes are too tight. Dang kids keep growing. I keep em out of the sunlight (closet) and I barely feed em, but they grow anyway!
Brugge. I never made it to Belgium. But to be honest, I never had much intention of going there when I was in Europe. I really wanted to get to Venice, Amsterdam, Florence and Zurich. Probably other places, but Belgium wasn't on the list. Looks great though, maybe I'll consider adding it to my list of places to go. It's cool you got to go when you were in your 20's. There's definitely something cool about being in Europe when you're young.
I musta given myself brain freeze like 5 times today on one of those Target ICEE drinks. I'm like those lab rats who keep pushing the red lever even though it sends em a shock.
Did it feel like zero when you went shopping? Cuz I went shopping, too. And it felt like freakin ZERO. Do you know how that feels, Havic? Cold. It feels cold.
Ever had your hair freeze? If you haven't, it's worth the trip up here.
It's stinkin' cold down here. Not Michigan cold, but for those of us who are not acclimatized to the cold, it's pretty bad. I am not used to the cold the way I used to be. I'm kinda hoping for a lot of ice so maybe I can stay home tomorrow.
Man, I've got some serious wrapping to do. And in addition, I've got 2 bday parties to go to this week. Who has kids in December? Obviously they weren't thinking.
Do you have the same hostile attitude toward "Seasons Greetings"?
I went shopping with my parents today. It kinda wasn't fun. I like spending time with them and all, but there were a number of times when my dad's thinking was confused and he wasn't very sharp. He's like that a little anyway, but it was pretty bad today. It's hard to watch.
Sorry to hear that; it must be tough. My best friend and his bro bought a house and moved their folks in w/ them (his mom's got Alzheimer's). This whole parents aging deal is hard. I've been lucky..so far.
On a lighter note, I napped in fronta the fire for an hour. Not sure how I'm gonna get to sleep tonite.
I never really gave it much thought in the past, but since you mentioned it last year, now I'm so cognizant of saying it that I get all uncomfortable sayin it! It's like I'm anticipating negativity.
Was just readin some pollin of whether or not we should "bail-out" the Big 3. Was surprised that so many are opposed (as I am). I have no confidence that the money would be paid back (like Iaccoca did w/ the 80's bailout). In fact, the govt made 350+ million off a that deal.
I think the general concesus here is that we can let them fail...later. Now would just be catastophic w/ the economy the way it is. Maybe if we had some time..a few years..when hopefully things are more stable, it wouldn't have such an extreme effect on things.
This is interesting..remember our dyslexia convo? Well, I'm tryin to get T tested and his teacher said she'll consult w/ the teacher who does that, but she doesn't know where it'll go cuz he's a bright boy and it shows in his school work and test scores. Ha! Seems we have the opposite deal. I sent her a list of symptoms he's got that are on the website. We'll see what happens.
Well if he does, it's probably mild, and he doesn't switch letters or write them backwards, but he's got a plethora of other more subtle symptoms. You'd be surprised what all it consists of. (Unless you've looked it up.)
I laughed so much and so hard today. I wish every day were like that. My belt is awesome, got a rear hand upper punch and a front leg reverse swing kick which is really hard.
Hard to believe there's only 8 days till Christmas. Sure am lookin forward to finishin up the couple a jobs I got goin & taken some time off. I needa short break.
Cr*p, just walked outside & it's all drizzly here. Tough paintin in exteriors in winter. It is winter isn't it? it could officially still be fall. I'll look into it ;)
You brought it up.... It's fall alright. Sure doesn't look it round these parts. The winter solstice,(first day of winter), is the 21st. The start of the seasons, (solstices and equinoxes) are always on the 20th, 21st, or 22nd, on Dec, Mar, June, and Sept.
The fun thing about the winter solstice is that that's the day we'll have the shortest amount of daylight. So it's always sorta uplifting thiking the days are getting longer from there on out. Of course that means that the summer solstice (June 22 this year),is the longest "day" of the year. Those are some long days too, aren't they? Too long for my liking. I prefer the length of daylight closer to the equinoxes myself, when it's 50/50. I don't need to be wearin sunglasses at 9:00 pm. Some people like it. Plus the kids wig out when they have to go to bed and it's still light out. That's why room darkening shades are a must.

Dang, you're a kid there. How old were you in that pic. 18?
24. I was really skinny and tan.. I lost weight there..little $ for food and tons of walking.
Dude, 24! Lookin good!
Youth is wasted on the young.
Ha! You're watchin it too.
Id'a taken Baily's deal ;)
I'm watchin my movie. I take it I said something timely. I was talkin about bein 24.
Hmmm..
That was a line from IaWL.
How's your movie? Funny?
You know. I just look at Fiennes and I start laughin.
Not really. Haven't seen Fiennes yet. Maybe that's when hilarity will ensue. Actually, I may have to turn on your movie.
You get colds from germs, not leavin your coat open.
Is this what's gonna happen to D if the biz goes under? This better get happy soon.
Yes, this is what happens.
Diggin all the snow in the movie. I think I'd like to live there in smville.
Cr*p, your not gonna send me that Fiennes movie are you?
btw, that tshirt I have on in that pic says "North Dakota..enjoy our dairy air". har. I think there was the back side of the cows on the back.
No smart alec, I turned it off after Ferrell put a bullet through a priest during confessional. I'm sure he has his reasons, but I'm in no mood. Not funny enough from the get go to carry on.
Have you seen Citizen Kane? I've been meaning to see that.
I do a really good impression of the little girl at the end who says annoyingly, "every time a bell rings...an angel gets his wings." It's spot on.
I'd like to hear that.
Never seen it.
Great shirt.
I may send you "The Clapper" tho.
Who's the shifty lookin character behind you?
He does look shifty. He's who I learned from most, that the "C" word isn't that bad a word in England. That was a lesson.
Mornin.
Yeah, I'm thinkin the "C" word not so popular there now tho.
What makes you say that?
Mmmmm...it's an eggs and bacon mornin.
Are we talkin bout the same "C" word?
I hada breakfast bar and 12 cups a coffee.
For lunch...sandwich. Blah.
Now THAT'S the breakfast of champions!
I only know one c word that's offensive.
Ok, how about we pic em (rew & imm) in order we think they'll fall) plus who we think'll get voted out (in order). Also, who we think will win it all.
I guess it's possible to catch me..cr*p please no one catch me.
Ok, so one or two rewards?
Let's do this: pick 2 for rew, 2 for imm, 2 voted out and winner. Yes, in order. If we don't need 2 rewards, then no big deal.
Agreed. S to call me back in a minute w/ her pics.
I'm still think. Lots a ways this could fall.
Ok, here's my pics..in order...
rew-Matty; imm-Bob; Matty out
rew-Bob; imm-Ken; Bob out

You just answered my question.
S's pics...in order...

rew-Bob; imm-Matty; Susie out
Winner-Bob
We'll catch-up w/ ff.
They're bout 20 some odd mins out.
GL...you're gonna need it :)
We never watch this show in real time. I prefer to whip past the adverts anyway. I don't think it's started yet due to football.
I'm beyond luck...shaken or stirred?
Shaken,slightly dirty w/ two olives.
We're at first imm.
"Just being nice isn't a personality trait I find interesting." Corrine
Classic! Seriously warped, but classic!
Yeah, she's not real popular round here.
saw it :)
Yeah Bob!
I prefer Skyy vodka btw.
I'm sure you do. Aw geez, all we have is Five O'Clock...bummer.
You're winner pick wasn't that far off. I'll do totals tomorrow.
Oh and you SO picked the right old dude!
Bob's da man.
Fixin to watch man vs Food.
Oh, you knew I would.
"anything you can do, I can do better..." You wish you had that Man vs. Food job, dontcha? I'm up late..gettin that elf thing together. (check your email)
Too bad Survivor's over. I'm always a little bittersweet watchin the reunion special...~sigh~
Yeah ok, I'll get a life.
BUT....really lookin forward to Lost startin in Jan!
Holy cow! Woke up this mornin and the snow's gone!
Yeah, always hate when it's over.
We woke up this mornin to an artic blast (for us). It was 44 when I got up, it's 38 and droppin now.
They'll do that.
Fixin to go do some Christmas shoppin & then have lunch w/ lil one.
39 here!

I'll bet it's easier when you're younger, too. You don't care as much about being comfortable..in any sense of the word.

It's darn cold alright. Temp gauge says 38, but it feels like 28 w/ that wind. And like Nest said, that FEELS cold.
Got mosta my shoppin done and had time to hit Costco (no, I haven't forgotten their holiday cr*p; but come on..it's Costco).
Question: When you live near Antarctica, would a latte or some nice hot chocolate be a more appropriate drink?
Alright fine. It's cold there. Happy?
Hot chocolate.
Man, I've got some serious wrapping to do. And in addition, I've got 2 bday parties to go to this week. Who has kids in December? Obviously they weren't thinking.
Do you have the same hostile attitude toward "Seasons Greetings"?

Seasons Greetings is acceptable.
Oh see I thought you might have a field day w/ Seasons Greetings.
I'm also cool w/ Peace On Earth & Joy To The World.
Got more Merry Christmas's returned this yr btw.
I never really gave it much thought in the past, but since you mentioned it last year, now I'm so cognizant of saying it that I get all uncomfortable sayin it! It's like I'm anticipating negativity.
Ha, can you imagine walkin outta Lowes and sayin "Joy to the World!" That'd be hilarious.
If I were more brazen, I'd do that. Just to see what people would do.
I did not have a nap, and frankly I'm on impulse power.
gn
Peace on Earth
Get some rest.
Good Will Toward Man
Lol...good will toward man. You slay me.
Mornin..
Was just readin some pollin of whether or not we should "bail-out" the Big 3. Was surprised that so many are opposed (as I am). I have no confidence that the money would be paid back (like Iaccoca did w/ the 80's bailout). In fact, the govt made 350+ million off a that deal.

Boy, my spelling's awesome this morning.
This is interesting..remember our dyslexia convo? .ti sah eh tbuod I
That took me a minute. Maybe I have it.
Well if he does, it's probably mild, and he doesn't switch letters or write them backwards, but he's got a plethora of other more subtle symptoms. You'd be surprised what all it consists of. (Unless you've looked it up.)
I just bought tickets to an art exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Arts, called Modern Masters: Monet to Dali. Very exciting.
That sounds...contemporary and timely, enchanting and nothing short of astonishing.
I laughed so much and so hard today. I wish every day were like that. My belt is awesome, got a rear hand upper punch and a front leg reverse swing kick which is really hard.
I'm sure it will be all of those things.. and more big words..if I knew any more.
Geez, I forgot to do our Survivor totals. I don't know how you've been sleeping at night..sorry bout that.

Long shoppin day here; S to finish manana. Some coool stuff.
Good job on the ol belt. Go reverse swing kick somethin wouldya.
Reck wins!...then loses. Story a my life.
Just saw the envelope you sent; very funny. Happy Holidays indeed.
Mornin.

K, I'm done.
Ok, I see you're the solstice and equinox "go-to gal".
Well, it's fall-ish round these parts right now.
Christmas gettin close, it;s excitin.
