Stain, Stain, Go Away..

This is a cute, bubbly stain that sits above our kitchen table. We've been ignoring it in hopes it'll just go away....like you might with a really hammered drunk at the bar who won't stop talking to you. Ironically, the upstairs bathtub is directly above this eye catcher!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Admittedly, this vacation could have been better. Got up there Friday night, and Saturday morning of the 4th, D took the boys out skeet shooting. Ya know..a little father/son bonding. Unfortunately, it turned into mother/son bonding, when Ben wanted MOM hold his hand in the EMERGENCY ROOM to get his freakin NOSE STITCHED!!! (they actually decided to glue it closed.) It seems a 20 gauge is a bit much for the little guy...kick back knocked him down and the gun came down on his face.

After the ER, it was B's choice for lunch....

Sunday we got a nice thunderstorm..the ducks liked it.

We got a couple of hours of sun, but the winds were high. Roxie's tryin to ruin my tan lines.

The rest of the time was pretty much spent by the fire.

Skating By

The boys are embarking on a new adventure....rollerblading! D picked up some at a garage sale and they went to town. Yesterday I got em knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards. Hey, you're lucky they're not wrapped in bubble wrap. And yes...Tony bungee corded a pillow around his bum. He doesn't do anything like a normal kid..we've come to accept it. :)

Carnival Games

We went to a fair last night..partly to play expensive games with little or no reward, and partly to see my friend play in his band. The best bit was as we were leaving, there was a "clown" in the dunk tank. He was more like the Joker from Batman..and he was MEAN. He sat up on his perch and basically insulted people in a creepy, mean voice as they stood and watched or attempted to dunk him. Ben wanted him bad..cuz he kept callin him a "little booger picker". So B went through all his baseballs and as the clown started tormenting Dave, B gave him his last ball. The clown really liked this, and was givin D all sorts of crap. He had one shot...and took the clown DOWN. It was hilarious..the crowd standing around watching broke out in applause and D took a bow. Fun stuff.

Oh what the heck..let's talk Michael Jackson

So I'm watching all the coverage on Michael Jackson passing away today. It's kind of interesting how, as the night goes on, it's getting more fantastical. Now, don't get me wrong...he was some kinda talent, and I do find it sad...way too young. And IF he was indeed not guilty of the kiddie piddling, then it's possible he was just a child like.. (albeit, overtly strange), character. I just find the coverage of these types of things interesting. I just heard someone use the term "other worldly". Is he callin M.J. an alien? Ya know, I hadn't thought of that before now, but since they brought it up....

Then someone was talkin about how no one can moonwalk like he did. That's possible, tho I've seen some folks do a pretty mean moonwalk. I just did it in my kitchen. Heck, I'll bet even Reck can do it! (Ok, I'd actually pay money to see that.) It was pretty cool when he did it for what I think was the first time at the MTV awards that one year. (Not Reck, Michael Jackson.)
Anyway...thoughts on M.J.?

My 11 year old niece was recently diagnosed with Perthes Disease. It's a degenerative hip disease. Here's a link...not because I think you're horribly interested, but scroll down a bit and check out the cast she's gonna have put on, on Monday...4-6 weeks BEFORE she has surgery. I went to Michael's and got her a bunch of stuff she can do this summer while she's laid up. ..and I suggested Farmtown to my sil!!
