Oh HECK YEAH!!! Ok, so apparently when you synch an iPod to a computer, that's it. That's the computer you're usin. Well, our desktop comp has been majorly actin up, so I got a laptop that I've been using. So like an idiot, I'm buyin tunes off iTunes on the laptop and then I couldn't get em onto the iPod. So I spent literally hours googling how I can sort it out...had to download a program to do it..still couldn't swing it. Then I just gambled and erased what was on it and substituted....anyway...it WORKED. And I'm so happy right now. whew.
Currently listening to Alan Jackson's "Drive (for Daddy Gene)"
So cool when it works out...

Nestor said...

I liked "The Chart". That certainly would explain some of the decisions they have been making.

RecknHavic said...

Yes, the chicken w/ it's head cut off, runnin around the table, while they played a gazzo was hilarious! It does explain alot.

Linda said...

That Chicken Fried song sticks in your head.

Linda said...

This is where I go wrong....
I tell my boys that I shouldn't have to pick their clothes up off the floor and that they're old enough to hang up their own shirts, etc. WHILE I'm picking up their clothes and hanging up their shirts.
Yeah. I don't think they're learning anything.

Linda said...

I take that back...they're learning plenty!

RecknHavic said...

Kids do not pick up clothes, they pile em.

"Yeah I'm chicken fried..cold beer on a friday nite..."

Linda said...

That's a great tune...

Here's a strange scenario for ya...

We bought this house from a couple..with 2 kids about 8 yrs. older than ours. They moved to Oklahoma and got divorced pretty much as soon as they got there. So she moves to Ohio with the kids and he stays with our neighbor across the street. Kinda came in handy when we had questions about the house.

So about 6 mos later, the guy takes a job thru GM in Australia...18 months. We see him occasionally. So now he's back in Detroit and just bought a house down the street! Strange, eh? I for one, like him and am glad he's back. A real party guy tho. And he likes to hug me which is a little weird, but what the hey. Ok, I'm talking too much.

Nestor said...

Interesting story about 'The Hugger'. Hmm...

So Glenn will be in SA at the Alamo on April 15th. I'd like to go, but I have to work. But there is a tea party on the 15th at the Texas State Capitol at 4. I'm considering going after I get off of work since I work like 5 blocks from the Capitol. It'll just be a tough one to swing with church later on that night.

Nestor said...

In the news: (ok not really) James Carville said at a news conference that he wanted George Bush to fail...the morning of September 11th, 2001. (before the attacks) 51 % of Democrats wanted George Bush to fail as late as 2006. Incredulous!

Also in the news: (not) Barack Obama has managed to become Jimmy Carter in less than 100 days. It took Jimmy Carter 4 years to become Jimmy Carter. That's Change you can Believe in!

Also I've found a couple of pretty good YouTube channels. One is MachoSauce (which I've posted a video on my blog) the other is How the World Works. I don't agree with everything he says (I think he's either agnostic or atheist) but he's got his stuff together as far as Politics, Economics etc. If you're bored, check these out.

RecknHavic said...

I heard about the "tea party" yesterday listenin to Beck. But, I thought it was at the Alamo? Either way, we're goin. Hey, it'll be Beck & Reck; everybody wins.

Since it's a "party" maybe we should invite Linda's neighbor.

Nestor said...

Beck will be at the Alamo. I just have to work that day, and since there's also a tea party at the Capitol at 4, I'd like to go. But I don't think I'll be able to swing it because Wednesday's are busy for us.

Linda said...

Well I like tea...hot AND cold. And I like parties...and I'm cold..I wanna come, too!!
(Oh yeah..and I'm outraged.)

Linda said...

I just listened to yesterday's show. That sounds like it'll be cool. He's broadcasting the tv show live from there, eh? Neat.

RecknHavic said...

I'm lookin forward to it. Shame you gotta work that day Nest. Spoke to Prince of Wails and he's gonna drive down for the Alamo dealio. I've got 8 commits to come so far (countin me).

Hope GB doesn't remember me, hate to get escorted away again.

Any ideas for some good sign slogans? My best so far is, "Tax This!"

Plane fares are very cheap right now. I'm just sayn...

Linda said...

Don't worry, you're fairly forgettable.

Oh that sounds fun. Not cheap enough unfortunately.

Here's somethin that doesn't happen every day....

I'm sittin in the car having some lunch..enjoying the sunshine, when a truck pulls up next to me and the guy driving says, "excuse me Miss? Would you like a free home theater?" I respond politely to the potential serial killer with, "oh, no thank you!" Then Ted Bundy says, "cuz I have a couple in the back of my truck, that's why I'm asking." ?? wth?! Weird.

Linda said...

Wow, for fun I looked it up. You're right...darn good prices!

Linda said...

It's game time!!!

Nestor, I told Dave you thought the Spartans were gonna lose tonight and he said "Oh yeah? Ask him if he wants to put his money where his mouth is." Lol. This is gonna be an uncomfortable couple hours.

RecknHavic said...

Go State!
I think w/ their depth they have a chance.

That's pretty funny about your potential serial killer; and weird.

State needs to quit passin up open looks.

Saw an ad for the Topsy-Tirvy tomatoe grower: 2 for 19.99 PLUS 2 tomatoe slicers...a $60 value.

State needs to run more and wear down UConn.

Linda said...

R> "a $60 value" Lol..you're such a sucker.

Dang it! I could be watching this game on my new home theater set up. But nooooo! I had to be worried about lotioning up in the bottom of a well!

Linda said...

State needs to put the ball in the net.

RecknHavic said...

That was a very creepy movie.

state's in good shape. the longer the gm goes (if it remains close) the more pressure the Huskies will feel.

These first few mins of the 2nd half are HUGE!

RecknHavic said...

How bout them Spartans!

30 seconds left, only a total collapse could swing this thing.

Free throws...free throws..

RecknHavic said...

That's gm!

Linda said...

Holy cow!

We had to pause it and I came back and read "How bout those Spartans? 30 seconds left and (only) a total collapse..." and I stopped reading cuz I thought you were gonna say they LOST!! I really was tortured those last couple minutes anticipating a major screw up.

That's awesome. A happy state tonight. I went out to pick up za and there was NO ONE on the road.

RecknHavic said...

Sorry bout that :)

They have the look of a team that can win it all.

Linda said...

That would be crazy exciting. Are you watching the next game?

Linda said...

I've got my niece, her friend, and my nephew over for the night. What time does a 14 yr. old boy go to bed? I don't think I want to know. I asked them what time they've been going to bed all week at their gma's and the boy said 2 am. I think my exact words were 'not in this house, you don't'.
Good grief. When did I turn into my dad??!

RecknHavic said...

If they said 2, tha really means 4 :)

So, the boy drove to work today. Shoulda seen the smile on his face when i tossed him the keys.

Watchn it. NC dominatn early

Linda said...

Aw, that's great! His 'cool factor' just went up!

Linda said...

The kids have 15 more minutes. You heard me right...10:00. Hey, that's late for my boys..the others'll just have to suffer. We don't have an East Wing to put them in.

Nestor said...

I think UConn really blew it at the line. I'm working tonight, but I watched it on and off. (streaming it) It seemed like they missed 80% of their free-throws. Then when they were getting one-and-one they were always missing the first (negating the second) Good luck! I'll root for State against UNC, but I think I'll pull for 'Nova if they're in.

RecknHavic said...

Not just that, State killed em on the boards. But, you're right, UConn (not a very good free throw shootin team to begin w/) stunk from the line.

10 o'clock!! That must be the teacher in you.

Linda said...

I hear ya. I'm gonna root for MSU if they play Vill, but it's it's UConn, I'm gonna have to go with MSU. :)

Is that early? Well, I just got em down, so it turned into 10:45. That's fair, isn't it? I have no idea. My kids are in by 9. I don't want them to grow up, I've decided.

Linda said...

How do they work tickets for these games? Do you buy em for both games? Do they let people out and let more people in while they're changing games? Were there Vill and UNC fans watching the first game? I don't get it.

Linda said...

I may be biased, but this game isn't nearly exciting as the first.

Nestor said...

You get tickets for both games. I definitely saw Villanova fans mixed in with UConn fans during the UConn game. How many people are there? 80,000? It's insane. I'd rather watch from home that try to watch a basketball game from the upper deck in a football stadium.

Linda said...

Yes, it must have looked small. I have some friends who were there...I'll get their take.

RecknHavic said...

It's gonna be a good gm. I'm goin w/ State, even tho they've never beat UNC in the tourney before (0-4). They're due.

Crash time. gna & have a God sunday :)

Our Church is moving to another building. We had service with SA in San Marcos last week and the building was supposed to be ready tomorrow, but there was something with the fire alarm or smoke detectors not being inspected on time. It's a bummer because I was doing the welcome. It would have been cool to do the first welcome in the new building.

BTW by new, I don't mean new, just new to us.

RecknHavic said...

Codes.

On all a the commercial jobs I've been on, passin the fire marshal inspection is always the hardest. That's probably a good thing tho.

Linda said...

Jiminy..it''s Texas bball day on ABC today.

Have you seen the forecast for the NEast for Tuesday, our travel day? Looks like we're gonna follow right along with the snow. I'm tryin to figure out how to avoid it...like driving 6 hours tomorrow night in the rain before it turns to snow? But we'd still get it from Pittsburgh to DC on Tuesday. I'm not sure what to do but I'm really disappointed. I was really looking forward to the drive..and I'm not good in heavy snow. I have little panic attacks and D tells me to close my eyes. I don't know how he drives in it honestly.

Linda said...

I think you probably knew this, Nestor, but I said I'd ask about the seats....

"the upper bowl is pretty far away. they have HUGE wide screens at the top of each end zone, plus 4-sided jumbo tron, to watch the game if you're far away. if you're a state fan and want to take in the experience, sitting in the upper bowl and watching it on the screen is one way to go. but as far as actually watching the game, upper bowl is pretty far and i'd rather be at a bar. that's just me.

we sat club level on hudson's side and view was fine."

RecknHavic said...

Hope e1 hada good Palm Sunday!

Turned into a Craig's List day for me. Went & looked at some patio furniture & then some bar stools (nether were worth buyn tho) Amazing how pics can make somethin crummy appear nice. Anyhow, my only purchase was a filin cabinet (2 drawer) for 10 bucks. probably spent more than that today on gas :)

Also went & saw a Wachovia Bank grass paint job that S saw bein done the other day. Apparently I'm not the only one w/ the "big idea". But, have to say it didn't look all that good. Many blue patches and they didn't apply enough (depth-wise). My next goal is to find out: a) what company did the work? & b) how much did they charge?

I know yall'r dyen to know too.

RecknHavic said...

Guessn yall made it to your destination.

Linda said...

Honey, we haven't even left yet.

RecknHavic said...

Power back yet?

Linda said...

Hello my lone star friends! I'm in Austintown of all places...Ohio. Almost to Pennsylvania. Not a bad drive..hit a couple nasty squalls of snow. Hopefully tomorrow won't be too bad. We're about 5 hours out.

Laying on the bed in the hotel, just turned on the game. Jeez, we're gettin creamed!! ugh.

Power came back around 2:00 pm today, but cable never did.

RecknHavic said...

Probably woulda been better if the cable was out at the hotel.

Is it over yet? i quit watchin w/ about 5 mins left.

RecknHavic said...

UNC was just too darn good I'm afraid. BUT, makin it to the final gm is an accomplishment in itself.

Nestor said...

Too bad about the game. My dad's in town and he lived in Kalamazoo for a while when he was a kid. We were rooting for state, but didn't check on the game until about 3 minutes left in the 1st half. We watched the rest of the half...and then watched James Bond. Better luck next year...assuming you don't face UConn or Texas, then it'd be ON!

RecknHavic said...

Mornin all.

Freakin cold here (by Texas standards) today.

Linda said...

We stopped watching in w/ 5 min left, too. Oh well..can't win em all!

Yes, cold most everywhere it seems. Just saw that Austin's at 28 w/ a record low. We got some snow here overnight and the trip down looks iffy with squalls of snow along the way. (I like the word "squall") Wish us luck!

Linda said...

Thinkin about hitting Gettysburg on the way in. I just remember a lot of outdoors stuff and it's really cold, but we'll see. Have a great day!

Nestor said...

28??? Is Al Gore here? That would explain the blustery wind.

RecknHavic said...

Yall make it there? How bout the 9/11 Memorial?

Yes, squall is a fun word.

RecknHavic said...

Ok, as I'm tucking lilS in she asks me (she always comes up w/ deep questions right before bedtime), "Dad, why did God create the devil if He knew he would turn bad?"

My answer (keepin in mind I'm wise to her pullin me into to long discussions prior to goin to bed), "Jesus said taht satan was evil from the beginnin; that he's the prince of lies; and that it all fits into God's plans."

RecknHavic said...

Ok, I realize you guys are trudgin through squalls, but are high for thurs is supposed to be 96.

How bout a trade?

Nestor said...

Were you talking about 28 in Austin, Ohio? (or was it PA?) Cuz that would make more sense.

I hope you guys are having a great time.

Linda said...

No, actually I was talking about Austin, TX. Really...I saw it on TWC!

Did National Archives, Smithsonian National History and Air and Space, then Jefferson. It's a lot of walking, kids. If you plan on a trip, prepare yourselves. Tomorrow, it's more monuments! Hooray! (That's my favorite part.)

Fixin to watch taped Lost! I'm at my cousin's now in MD.

RecknHavic said...

Sounds like a full day. Still snowin?

Lost was cool...except for the commercials every 3 freakin minutes.

Linda said...

Ha..no snow. It's actually supposed to be 66 tomorrow!! Wahoo! Little hot down there.

Nestor said...

We watched Quantum of Solace tonight. It was good, but the ending left a whole lot of loose ends. I don't like that unless I know there will be a sequel in about a year.

RecknHavic said...

Quantum of Solace, is that the Bond w/ that Vladamir Putin lookin dude?

Hope yall packed ya some shorts Lin.

Linda said...

I'm not gonna let a little vacation interfere with the all important Survivor draft, so go ahead and make picks. I should be in for the night by then.

D: Steven rew, Joe imm, Taj out.
L: JT rew, Coach imm, Erinn out.

Lin out. har har

RecknHavic said...

Our picks
R- J.T. rew., Brendan imm., Joe out.
S- Brendan rew., J.T. imm., Joe out.

Linda said...

Well, I taped it, but never got to watch it. So, hold that thought.

RecknHavic said...

Well, that was rather a sucky Sur. Altho, next week looks to be pretty excitin. I'm guessn there equal point ttls cept for whomever had Joe gettn one less.

Btw, I may need a Craig's List intervention.

Linda said...

Are you selling stuff? Are you gonna have anything left?

Linda said...

All this family togetherness has been great.

Can I go home now?

RecknHavic said...

So, your family get-to-gether cup is gettn full, eh?

No.. buyn. Bought a patio set yesterday.
Still lookin for some bar stools.

Linda said...

That's right..I forgot you were buying mostly.

We're home. Took 11 hours today...that's a long time. Feels good to be back by the fire. Any big plans tomorrow?

RecknHavic said...

Welcome home!

After the egg findin and a big breakfast we're gonna go to sunday sch & church. After that, nothin really.

Yall?

Linda said...

Thanks!

No plans, really. Picked up some stuff for baskets..now I gotta dig em outta storage. I wasn't expecting to do anything, cuz I didn't think we'd be here. Just laying low and doing lots of laundry.

Just downloaded 300 pics. Gonna be tough to do a post! Way too much...I'll have to spread it out over time.

Linda said...

By the way, the trip was awesome! I LOVE that city and I love watching the kids learn about stuff. You know "teachable moments"? Well every moment in DC is teachable. I'm kinda surprised their heads didn't explode. They were incredible...2 10 hour days non stop. (Walking Arlington Cemetary is no easy feat...MY legs are sore.) They are great travellers..not one problem, no complaining, nice manners..the works. I was so proud of them. Now I'm ready for Niagra Falls this summer!

RecknHavic said...

Sounds great! Kids that travel well are a blessin.

That's alotta pics. Interested to see history through your lens.

Lil S made her Easter nest tonite (wild flowers, it's a fam tradition), set out some carrots, celery & lettice; and even wrote the Easter Bunny a note. Really gonna miss this when the time comes (she's pretty much in denial right now:))

Yall have a happy Easter w/ a nod to Him.

Linda said...

Well that was silly of me to think we weren't gonna do anything on Easter. That was "I just got home after an 11 hour drive and I'm not going ANYWHERE tomorrow" Linda talking. Visited my folks for a bit and then on to my mil's to pick up Roxie and out to lunch. NOW it's laundry time.

Did the bunny nibble on the grub?

Glad to hear we kicked some pirate butt today. I hope they took out their parrot, too! Arg!

Linda said...

So does S have a creepy Bunko bunny she puts out?

Summer said...

I sent the creepy bunny to you guys, I hoped that it would have been there by now.

Linda said...

Lol! Thanks for the warning..I'll send the kids to get the mail this week.
