On to Tilghman Island

We were done with D.C. and headed east across the Chesapeake Bay to Tilghman Island, MD. Dave has family there, so we had dinner with them and then had his cousin over to the hotel room for drinks. A really nice way to end the trip, tho it added 2 hours on to our drive home!

Crossing the Chesapeake Bay. We sang "Down by the baayyy..." all the way across.

Our hotel in the marina.

View from balcony.

D and the boys chillin.

From restaurant where we had dinner.
It was a tiring trip.

There's just somethin about the coast...

How was the grub?

The kid pile made me laugh. Lucky B didn't suffocate there.

Linda said...

I'm sure for seafood lovers, the food was good. I, however, had a salad and shrimp bisque. Hey, I DID have seafood! Good soup.

B got all teary having to sleep in the above bed there, for some reason. (It was a trundle type thing.) So I let him sleep w/ T and moved him after they were sleeping.)

Gearing up for a rainy day tomorrow. Already pitter pattering here. I love rainy days...maybe too much.

RecknHavic said...

We're done w/ rain till, it looks like, next weekend. I like rain too btw. It's somehow comfortin.

Still huntin for bar stools on CL. Love it when they list em as "rot" iron. Make me feel better as a poor linguist.

Linda said...

Mornin! Boy, I don't think the rain stopped all night.

Ha. I learned wrought iron late in life. So late I just looked it up to make sure I had it right. I can't remember what I thought it was, tho.

Notary public is another one of mine. Always thought it was "note of republic" pronounced "note a republic".

Linda said...

I think those word mix-ups are based on whether or not you've seen the word/words in print. We're pretty sloppy enunciators, so unless you've seen it written, those'll happen. That's one reason reading is so great for people..helps the ol vocab.

RecknHavic said...

Ya know, you make alotta sense in the mornins. It's as the day goes by...

I once dated a girl who thought the song "Roller Coaster" was (sung, "roll-a-coasta") was "lemon custard". And yes, I did date her strictly for her looks :)

Speakin a speakin..how do you pronounce "Tilghman"?

RecknHavic said...

Gonna hit the course today, wish me luck.

Linda said...

Hey! I always make sense.

Tillman.

I thought the Beatles' "Penny Lane" was "and Elaine was in my ears and in my eyes...". I know.

Oooh! Good luck! Mind the knee!

Linda said...

I remember now..I thought it was "rod iron". Ya know, like a steel rod? Hey, it's better than "rot".

Linda said...

Ok I gotta stop pointing those out or I'm gonna sound like a dingbat.

RecknHavic said...

So it's not Tilgamin. For some reason I wanna sat Tilgamin.

The knee held up fine, struck the ball well, couldn't putt, shot a 94.

Linda said...

No. It's not. Stop sayin it.

You should practice puttin on your lawn! Cut it short! :)

Linda said...

Let's not forget about re-drafting before Thursday nite. Last time, we reversed the first draft order. Don't remember what that was, but I can look it up if you don't remember, either.

RecknHavic said...

Ok.

We should really consider an Amazin Race draft next time.

Golf really took it outta me; hittn it, gn.

Nestor said...

Did you walk or ride?

Nestor said...

OK, so I saw a little of the Miss America flap. I think she will get on Fox. Or if Elizabeth Hasselbeck decides to leave "The View", maybe on there. I didn't watch the show, but saw the pictures of Miss NC and Miss Cali. NC is not even in the same league looks-wise. Perhaps in the other categories, I don't know. But Perez flat-out said that her answer cost her the title. So apparently Miss America, who is supposed to be a role model is supposed to believe what a gossip columnist believes, or lie, in order to win Miss America. Who on Earth picked that guy to be a judge on Miss America anyway?

Linda said...

One thing to keep in mind..it was Miss USA, not America. I think America is more reputable, so there's that. I did hear that NC was winning in other areas before the question.

I know..not sure how they pick their judges. They were all just b- list celebs. I'd be pretty ticked if I worked hard doing pageants all my life and then it all came down to that panel, I tell ya. Stupid question imo, too.

She's gettin some props for being honest which is good. She'll come out on top, I think.

RecknHavic said...

Cart, no walkin on Hill Country courses; or any courses for that matter.

I just watched a clip of the Miss USA flap and I'm quite proud of this young lady standin up for what she believes.

RecknHavic said...

Now for more irony:

John Ziegler, the fella that did the Obama voters interviews and movie Media Malpractice, was arrested for reporting (in a public area) on the journalistic award ceremony for Katie Coric. A journalist arrested at an award ceremony for journalists! Any guesses for which interview Coric was receiving her award for....that's right..the Sarah Palin interview.

Linda said...

I saw that. Taking the devil's advocate, tho, which I never do ;), I think there was a rule set up where only cleared journalists could be outside the venue and he wasn't one of em. Of course, you said it was a public area, so I could be totally wrong.

Nestor said...

Yeah I saw that too. (I think on PJTV) It was pretty humorous. I was waiting for him to say; "Don't taze me bro!" I think it was at the campus of USC. I don't know what the rules are as far as reporting like that. Was he getting the paparazzi treatment? I don't think he was being rude, disprespectful, or even getting in the way, but I can see how he would have been extrememly irritating. But then again, it was a conference honoring Katie Couric, the people there should be used to irritating.

Nestor said...

Linda,

This is for you.

"Mitchell, who was part of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon mission, asserted Monday that extraterrestrial life exists, and that the truth is being concealed by the U.S. and other governments." CNN

Nuff said.
;)

RecknHavic said...

Great! Let's institute that rule at other venues. The next republican convention: no CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS, NYT. Only Fox News and C-SPAN. OK, PJTV as well. The GOP gets to make the call.

And I still say it's tilgamin.

Linda said...

From what I gathered looking it up was that he was approved to be there if he stayed in the designated media area and he wouldn't. He didn't play by the rules and got the boot.

Seriously, I don't care about this, but he did seem like a Michael Moore type. 'Roll the camera! Look at what they're doing to me! Ow, ow!!(giggle giggle)' He got what he wanted...attention. Seemed like a jerk weed to me. Just my opinion. Course my opinion is usually right, but whatever.

Linda said...

It's...ummmm...snowing.

BUT..check out the forecast for Saturday!! Speaking of Sat, I've been looking for a camp for T this summer and I think I found a good one with the YMCA. There's an open house Sat. I may take the boys to. (D's fishin.)

He wants to do the overnight for the week, but I think I'll start him with the day camp first. They do spend the night Thurs, then you come Friday eve and have a fire and watch a slide show of their week, then take em home. Only negative is that it's a 40 min drive early every day to get him there. Hmmm..maybe he IS old enough to overnight the week! ha.

Nestor said...

Ryan will be going to a camp that our church runs. The Dallas church has the camp, but Austin, SA, Houston, etc have volunteers and interns that help run it. We haven't been able to send him the past two years, but this year, HE'S GOING!

Linda said...

Cool! Is it overnight? I guess it is if it's in Dallas. Not sure if I read that right.

Nestor said...

Well the camp is run by the Dallas church. It's in Corsicana, about 45 minutes from Dallas. It's about 2-3 hours from where we live. (I think) It was 3.5 hours from my place in SA, so I'd guess it's about 2-3 hours away. It is overnight. I've wanted to go when he goes, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. There's a church conference in Houston Memorial Day Weekend and an apologetics conference in Houston in June that starts the day after camp ends. It just seems like it would be too many events in a 2 week period of time.

Linda said...

I think that's great. I don't know the dynamics w/ R., but if he's interested in doing it, i think it's cool you're willing to let him. It's hard not to be smothering, if you know what I mean.

Linda said...

Hmmm...well we're not gettin the Rockets game here. I'm forced to watch dvr'd The View episodes.

RecknHavic said...

You missed a good gm, but our Rockets fell by 4 pts. Refs were horrible, both ways.

Speakin a camps, we're thinkin a sendin lil S to a militia run camp. Start em off early down the path of right wing extremism I say!

Nestor said...

Well you have to do something to reverse the left-wing extremism they get in school all year.

Linda said...

Happy Earth Day my green friends!

Geez...I was actually able to find our original draft order. It was S, D, R, L. So we'll reverse it? I think that's what we did last time.

RecknHavic said...

If it's earth Day, and we should be cuttin back on our power consumption, I suppose i shouldn't be on my computer right now.

Scr*w the planet, I'm bloggin!!

Linda said...

T said somethin to me about keeping the lights off tday. I was like, 'yeah, whatever kid. Go to school. In your green shirt you picked out.'

Rox was foaming at the mouth and shaking her head a lot this morning. Freaked me right out. Seems ok, tho.

RecknHavic said...

Did she maybe find a frog outside? Bull frogs will make them do that.

Linda said...

Really? I didn't know that. No, no frogs here yet. Seems like she mustve gotten into something, tho. She's been especially lazy today.

RecknHavic said...

Sounds like maybe she needs an intervention.

Ok, got me a sprayn project to in the garage. Sooo.. I gotta set me up a spray booth, shoot the cabs, clean the rig; figure I got me a good hour & a half. Add a shower and we're not watchin Lost till 9ish. So, wanna do the draft before we watch it, around 9 (10 your time)?

RecknHavic said...

Change a plans, gonna wait till manana to strat cabs, so we can draft after Lost.

Linda said...

We can still do it before if you want. We're here.

RecknHavic said...

Ok.

S picks Steven.

RecknHavic said...

Cr*p, I just realized we're reversin it. You pick first.

Linda said...

No, it's ok cuz I was pickin Steven and I can't in good concience now. D takes Coach.

RecknHavic said...

I'm confused. So are we goin in thw same order?

Linda said...

Yes, go ahead and pick yours. Unless there's some advantage to reversing the order and you want to. I'm just goin with what you started, even tho we were gonna reverse it.

RecknHavic said...

I'll take Debbie.

Linda said...

See...I was gonna pick Steven first, but when S chose him first, I couldn't say "hey I'm going first and I choose Steven". See where I'm comin from? So just keep goin.

Linda said...

Oooh, that's interesting.
I'll take JT and Tyson.

Linda said...

Lost is a recap, btw.

RecknHavic said...

Ok, Erinn for me then.

Linda said...

D Sierra

Linda said...

So S has Taj. Is that ok with you guys?? I don't want a big asterisk on the draft!!

RecknHavic said...

D's tryn to throw it, isn't he ;)

Ok, good luck u2.

Linda said...

Hey, it's anyone's game.

Yep, have a good night..

RecknHavic said...

well, she's still watch stupid Amer Idol. Does this show ever end?

RecknHavic said...

It's definitely tigalmin.

Did you know that the father of electromagnetism studies was Michael Faraday? Wonder if he had an ancestor named Daniel?

RecknHavic said...

Here's an interestn Lost theory I read.

Ben & Locke may be half-brothers.
Lockes dad seduced his mother & took all her money. Ben's mother died at child birth, and we assume that her husband (Roger) was the father, but we don't know nthat for sure. look how he treats Ben.

Basically the theory alludes to Cain and Able from the Bible. Cain (who was jealous of his brothers standing w/ God) killed Able. Ben killed Locke.

Ok, here's my end of the series theory. Jack will sacrifice himself to save the others (not the Others). Afterall, his father is Christian Shepard.

RecknHavic said...

Ok, I may be takin the CL stuff to an unhealthy extreme. I'm meetin someone in the mornin (at 7 freakin oclock in the mornin!) to buy a bar stool. It matches the one we have (our other one broke) and it's for only 10 bucks.

Yep, I need help.

GN!

RecknHavic said...

Mornin.

Thought For The Day

"Look, I don't know about you, but things have really sucked for me lately, and I could really use a victory. So let's get one, dude! Let's get this car started. Let's look Death in the face and say, 'Whatever, man!'"
Hurley

RecknHavic said...

It's a perfect match!

Ok, gonna do alittle trabajo today and then this afternoon...The Quarry.

Linda said...

Hooray! Congrats on your new edition.

I think the Ben/Locke sibling theory is a bit of a stretch. But, hey. I've heard crazier. Good call on the Jack sacrifice thing.

Headin to Lowe's and Home Dep tday. Our faucet on the kitchen sink hasn't been attached to the sink for some time. It's all rusted out underneath, so it has to be replaced. When you move the faucet over to the side, it just...floats back to where it was. Thinking it's worth the $ to get it installed properly, too. Gotta find one that fits the sink. Guess that's not too hard, I dunno.

RecknHavic said...

You should have plenty a choices that'll fit. Also, you'd be surprised how easy it is to do-it-yourself on a repair/install like a faucet.

Linda said...

Yeah, D's done the bathroom ones, but he made it sound like he didn't wanna mess with this. I'll see.

Linda said...

ARG! When will I learn not to pick up pine cones with my bare hands?? sap sap sap sap sticky sap sap.

Nestor said...

I just saw a video on the new Honda Insight. It looks like a Civic mated with a Prius.

Linda said...

They didn't show em mating on the video, did they? Cuz you might have to post that link.
