Memorial Day Weekend

This holiday weekend is mostly about fishing for us, as we have a bass fishing contest with our neighboring cottages. We all put in a buck, and the longest bass wins. Last year we also incorporated turtle races...where each cottage gets one and they race to the water. (This year the prize was a turtle pin.) It's actually very funny if you could see us all tryin to get our turtles to run. So the biggest bass was 17 1/2 inches won by Tracey, (far right in the group shot.) We have a trophy we pass to the winner and they keep it till the next year. We also made a plaque where we record each winner and the length of the fish.

Nice haircut. Looks like Roxie had a buddy there as well.

Yeah. that "buddy" was a snippy little thing who didn't care for Rox much.

That could explain the eye then.

Ya know..that's not a bad thought. Except they only came in contact once..and I think I picked her up before the snippy hot dog actually made contact.Hmmmm. Maybe, tho.

It looks like you guys had a great time. Every year? That's a real cool tradition. So do you get Glenn when you're up there with the yoopers?

Well we get Fox News, but I dare not watch it in the presence of my sil. Not sure about the radio, but again...

I do make sure to wear my GB tshirt when we're up there, tho. She loves it.

I was just checking out a menu of a restaurant on line and they had a description of Country Fried Chicken. At the end, they wrote "you'all gotta try it!".

Really..they can't even a muster a proper "y'all" and they expect me to try their attempt at southern cooking? (spell check even caught it!)

You know you don't find your cable guy particularly trustworthy when your fists naturally clentch when he walks near you.

Linda said...

Dontcha just love when your kids are outside playing and you hear car tires screech?

RecknHavic said...

Cable problems?
That they even show up is good!

That is scary!

Did you guys see "Common Sense" on thursday?

Linda said...

Very cool! Looking forward to disagreeing with what you say and not just what you write! ;)

Nestor...I'll let ya what. Yeah, we went. The thing is, the Wings were playing game 4 at the same time. So about 20 min into it I leaned over to D and whispered, "what would you rather be doing?" Then, "me too"... so we left. It wasn't that different from what you hear on his Fox show really. And, I don't know...maybe having seen him 3 other times made it not as interesting. Anyway, any other night it would have been a fun thing to do, but we wanted to be watching the game.
