So we're thinkin about seeing a movie tonight, but nothing good is showing, imo.
Considered Vince Vaughn's 'Couples Retreat', but I don't think I wanna watch couples needing counseling.
Then there's 'Amelia', which is a biopic of Amelia Earhart starring Hillary Swank. Possibility, but I was hoping for something funny.
There's the opposite of funny, which is 'Paranomal Activity'...creepy Blair Witch type thing. Tempting, but don't know if I wanna be freaked out.
Wanted to see 'Invention of Lying' with Ricky Gervais. Then I read about the pro atheistic slant. I know this shouldn't annoy me,of all people, but once I know there's a slant, I look for it. And really, I'm in no mood for intolerance.
Finally, there's a Jamie Foxx action/thriller type deal called 'Law Abiding Citizen'. I read in the reviews it's fairly violent and the storyline is pretty unbelievable, so....
Don't know if you've gone already, but Inglourious Basterds was good. Bloody, violent, but good. It had some comic moments as well.
I've heard good things about The Informant as well, but I've had issues with Matt Damon since his stupid comments about Sarah Palin. (remember, I'm not even a Palin fan, but he said some stupid stuff) It also was directed by the Communist sympathizer, Steven Soderberg. (sp?) I really like his comedies, but his man crush on Che really pisses me off.
We didn't go. Watching The Negotiator for the hundredth time on TNT.
I didn't see either of those movies at our movie theater. Maybe they're gone already..thanks for the suggestions, tho!
(I generally put my fingers in my ears and go "la la la la la" when I hear about Hollywood types' politics. Makes it easier to pay to see their movies. Denial...it works for me.)
I understand why you do Linda, it kinda burns me up, because Matt Damon was my favorite actor. He's great in comedies, action, drama. If I never would have seen that clip of him, going to his movies would be easier. The only ones I truly boycott though are Sean Penn, and now Roman Polanski. I'll have a dilemma with the Three Stooges flick. Jim Carrey (yeah!) but also Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro.
Had to google Planet 51....you'll have to wait till Nov. 20. Looks cute, but I don't see it knockin out "UP" for best animated feature in '09. And there's no way the animated short, "Partly Cloudy", that was shown before it, will lose, either. That's 2 down..now I gotta get the other 22 categories hammered out.
We were gonna watch "Marly and Me" that I taped off HBO, but we got tired...and tonight Mich State is playin Iowa after the U of M game, so can't watch it tnite, either.
Here's somethin you'll love with your conservative ideals and all...
Kids were given a pack of football cards at a bday party last night. They got home and showed me that they got a "cheerleader card", so I took a look. Yep..there's Monica in her Dallas type cheerleading outfit! WTH? Who's collecting these cards? Anyone over 11? I think not.
Good News! I just read Sean Penn dropped out of the Three Stooges movie, and Paul Giamatti will be playing Larry instead. I don't know his politics and will hope to avoid his politics until the movie.
Ha! Tony just snuck up on Rox and stole her bone. As she's chasin him around the house he's goin, "Roxie..the world is full of thieves! Get used to it!" Lol.
Busy week for me, too. Teaching 1st grade tomorrow and 4th grade on Thursday, then the kids' Halloween party at school on Friday and our party Friday night, trick or treating Sat night and D's family up for a visit on Sunday. When am I gonna clean the house for Sunday? Oh oh....
Yeah, that's a busy week, Teach. I'm callin you Teach from now on btw. Thatsa lotta par-tays yall got goin.
I'm comin down off a varnish high myself tonite. After I finished the doors I was doin (and waitn for them to dry alittle) I hadta install a buncha blinds on em. I may have hung em upside down, I can't really recall.
Yes... Moe, Larry & Curly...the way God intended it.
Ha! Can you imagine if you did put em on upside down? I'm gonna choose to ignore WHY you'd have to put blinds on a door that's clearly wood, cuz you varnished it. I'm picturing a solid wooden front door with blinds. Oh, I'm sure that's not right, but I'll pretend that some backwards Texan wants blinds on his solid wood door.
Man alive, can 25 9 yr. olds zap the energy right outta ya. (It was 4th, not 1st). Part of my problem is I can't sleep till my alarm cuz I'm all wired...bed at 11:30 and up at 6. Not used to that. I'm knackered and hittin it and it's not even 9:00 yet. I know, I know..poor me. I get it.

I didn't hear they were doing a Stooges movie. What an odd threesome!!
Well, as a rather big Stooges fan, hearn that Sean "I supported the rape rooms in Iraq" Penn is in it pretty much kills me seein it.
There's reall only really one I wanna see: Planet 51.
The others, I'll wait for RedBox.

How ironic! I love Paul Giamatti. I don't know his politics either, but I can guess. "lalalalalalala..."
That is good news. Lookin forward to seein the Stooges now.
Ha! Tony just snuck up on Rox and stole her bone. As she's chasin him around the house he's goin, "Roxie..the world is full of thieves! Get used to it!" Lol.
Just watched Man vs. Food in SA with the giant cinnamon rolls! (Marathon today, and I found it.) Very cool!
Watchin The 3 Stooges right now and I gotta say that the Iraq rape room lover looks a lot like Curly. The second Curly..not the original.
You mean Curly Joe. Wonder if they'll include Shep, or was it Shemp?
M v F marathon, tv at its finest.
Long week here, doin some after hours repairs in a restaruant and gotta int startn manana. Feels good bein busy w/ "real" work again.
Tony's got future Libertarian written all over him.
Glad to hear you've got work Reck. There's only one three stooges cast: Larry, Moe and (the real) Curly.
Glad to hear work is pickin up!

Was listenin to S & lil S go over her spellin words a sec ago; apparently I'm NOT smarter than a 5th grader. There's a canvass w/ two s's, who knew.
I didn't.
We're smarter..it's just been a long time since we learned that stuff. That's my theory and I'm stickin to it!

Ha...see? We can double post! I'll bet 5th graders can't do that!
I'll "canvass" the results from Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader and let you know.
