That's *definitely* a strong choice. I was one of those hoping you would cover Heart, but I'm certainly not disappointed in your choice of songs to cover. Well done!
At dinner last night..Ben finishes, wipes his mouth, and while letting out a deep sigh says, "ahhh...jumanine." I say "what's that mean?" He says "it's a space station in Star Wars Clone Wars." I go, "so you just randomly say Star Wars terms for no apparent reason?" And he goes, "pretty much". Lol!
I'm hoping you're joking, but I guess you are still registered as a DEMOCRAT. You won't need to change party affiliation. Are there Farouk signs everywhere in your neckathawoods too? There's about one per mile between here and Austin.
Ok, boys and girls...it's officially award season! Oscar noms came out this morning and the race is on. I can't believe they upped the best picture noms to 10. So ridiculous. I think I've seen one. As have you, Reck..Avatar. So you should consider entering my Oscar pool. I'll even take your ballot and not include you in the gambling part. Oh fine..I know it's beneath you. But it ain't beneath MEEEEEE!!!!
I liked UP. I bawled like a baby, but after I recovered I liked it. Interesting..I think it's up for best picture and not best animated feature. I'll have to look into that.
Up isn't up for both? I know it's up for best picture, which I agree with, but I thought it'd get best animated as well. Maybe the Academy got tired of Pixar winning Best Animated feature every year.
My folks are celebrating 49 years today. You know what that means, don't you? It means I have less than a year to figure out what I'm doing for their 50th. A party planner I am not. The boys and I are taking them out for a romantic dinner for 5
The local Detroit news just said that after the commercial break they'll tell us about "Shiver on the River...fun for the whole family!" Yeah, sounds like a real blast. I think I'll pass.
Ok, I'm up to 3 movies out of 10. Saw "The Blind Side" today. I'd recommend it...can't see why anyone wouldn't like it. Good stuff...feel good type of flick.
"I understand how Scissors beats Paper and I get how Rock beats Scissors, but there's no way Paper can beat Rock. Is Paper supposed to magically wrap around Rock leaving it immobile? Why can't Paper do this to Scissors? When I play, I always choose Rock. Then when somebody claims to beat me with their Paper I can punch them with my already clenched fist and say, "Oh crap, I'm sorry. I thought Paper would protect you!""
Well I can't say I know anything about that show lost, other than there's a real fat guy who's been marooned on an island for like, 6 years and I don't get why he's still fat. However, the creator JJ Abrams did a fantastic job with Star Trek. I'm not a Trekkie, but I enjoyed most of the movies with Kirk, Spock et al. The newest one however, may just be the best Star Trek movie of all time...no wait...it is.
The Saints played well and Indy didn't keep up. The main issues for Indy in my opinion were Dwight Freeney not being able to put any pressure on Brees in the 2nd half, and Reggie Wayne being a liability with his drops and his lousy route-running that led to the pick-6. Bottom line though is that NO outplayed Indy. They took the momentum with the onside kick, and never relented. Bravo to them.
Reck - > Re: Farouk Shami...he's a Dim candidate for governor, and a funny little man.
So, ignoring your apparent "straw man" attack on Farouk, what's his policies???? What does he propose???? What does he think about the Constitution of the United States of America????
Nestor - > Super Bowl Prediction: Colts 31 Saints 23
ROFLMAO!!!! Though I do admit that I predicted that you would hear Townshend sing "and 1 AND 1 don't make 2, 1 AND 1 make 1 (booleen algebra)".
But I also told my Republican't boss before the game (in response to his telling me that the Colts would romp over the Saints) that he shouldn't count the Saints out, because Payton Manning doesn't have his best games in his really big games.
It was a pleasure to be able to force him to admit that I was correct in the morning. :-)
Reck - > Still mullin over Medina btw. Sorta a buzz about her in H-town right now.
Are you still here???? No wonder the weather has sucked so bad. ;-)
Dud, even my Republican't boss hasn't ever mentioned Medina's name to me (and he loves to (lying-type) propagandize Republican't "sacred cows" like Sarah Palin to me), and we have discussed the Republican't primaries previously.
You'd rather have Perry or Hutchison than Medina? She's really more Libertarian than Republican. She is primarily for keeping the Federal government out of Texas and leaving us alone. She is about following the Constitution as written. While I know you like the nanny state, you have to like her stances on corporations, basically give them all a level playing field. No preferences.
I haven't looked enough at Farouk or White yet to figure who I'd prefer in the doomsday scenario that the Republican nominee doesn't win in November.
BTW, (Stan & Reck, I'm sure Linda probably doesn't care about TX politics) I'll also be voting for another unknown, Joe Petronis over my Congressman, Michael McCaul. It has nothing to do with McCaul really, I think he's done a decent job, We just need more non-insiders.
Farouk (pronounced Faaarooook!) proposed durin the dimwit debate that he'd pay the state 10 million from his own pocket if he didn't create 2 million jobs in his first term.
Linda, it's really getting heavy down here between Perry and Hutchison.
They're sounding like they're attacking their "straw man" of what they claim Democrats are (of course, both of them are Republican'ts (and very similar on policies.))
BTW: ThanX to the New Orleans Saints for bringing a Superbool victory to Houston (as our second NFL franchise (I mean, we've had more Saints fans here than Cowboys fans here since Katrina))!!!!

WOW!
Thanks guys! I appreciate you taking the time to listen!!

I think Ben was lying (when he said "pretty much".)
Great song choice! You should market that voice.
Actually Nest, I'm leanin toward Farouk Shami.
Reck,

I vote for UP!
Actually, I'm votin for Farouk Shami cause I simply like sayn the name.
No Shami signs round these parts. Am seein quite a few of the conservative chics signs; I'll give her a second look.
The only Oscar prediction that I'm 100% confidant in is that I won't be watchin the Oscars.
Tell me about Farouk.
Hey! You made that predicition LAST year, too! :)
I liked UP. I bawled like a baby, but after I recovered I liked it. Interesting..I think it's up for best picture and not best animated feature. I'll have to look into that.

Gosh Nestor, you're right. For some reason I was thinking they had to submit it in only one category, not both.
Hey Reck...Ben has to keep a log on the moon's phases all week, so every night we go to your blog to look it up! :)

Cool, I'll hafta ck my blog too now..if it still exists.
Yep, 50's a biggie. The pressure is on!

Pretty funny. Is that from something?

Nestor, I don't know where it originated. A friend posted it as her status on fb..quite sure she didn't make it up, but she didn't have it quoted.
Wow!! Saints pulled it off! Mixed feelings..I have connections to Indy, but I love an underdog.
I thought the last Star Trek was the best, too. I love me some TNG, though. Picard rocks.
The Saints played well and Indy didn't keep up. My fave moment (altho belated as we were travlin durin gm) was the Betty White commercial.
Oh! and gun beats em all.
Thanks for the link Nest.
Still mullin over Medina btw. Sorta a buzz about her in H-town right now.

He's a funny little man.
Anybody but Perry for Governor!!
Nestor, by what ya'll are saying, I'd prefer Farouk over all of them.
I mean, at least we'd get $10 million back when he doesn't fulfill his campaign promises.
;-)
Stan,
He's not going to pay, he'll just say he meant "saved or created."
A wife says to her husband, "What would you do if I won the Lotto?"
He says, "I'd take half, then leave you."
"Excellent," she replies, "I won 12 bucks, here's $6,
now get the *&%# out."
ROFLMAO, Linda!!!!
Nestor, there's a reason (or two) that I winked.
