Looks like a really cool trip. Michigan probably is nice. The only time I was there though, it was covered in permafrost. You guys seem to have great summers. When I'm rich, I'll definitely have to have a summer place somewhere up north. I was thinking CT or NY or maybe WA. Maybe I'll add Michigan to my list of possibilities.
Nestor - > ... The only time I was there though, it was covered in permafrost. ...
Dud, if it's like it is now (or how shown in Linda's pictures), that frost is not so permanent. "Nothing Is Permanent" - Brave Combo .
But it used to be that the sands of the panhandle of Florida were almost that white. It's really sad what BP (and our government by not enough regulation) did to us. I've never seen the black sands of Hawaii (I've only seen pictures of them), but I imagine that the white sands of the Florida panhandle and the black sands of of Hawaii were equally beautiful (and unique.)
BTW: For the past few days, I've been hearing reports of tarballs washing up on the shores (and in the waters) around Galveston.
Seriously, because of the Gulf Stream I wasn't expecting us to see any of the oil from the big spill. I'm guessing that that first Hurricane of the season is the reason we now see the oil, but even so, Hurricanes were somewhat in my thought process in estimating that we here wouldn't see any of the oil. So obviously, the spill is even worse than I thought it was.
Linda, here's basically what the Gulf Stream is about. It's warm water that flows North from the South. Here in Texas, it causes the water in our Gulf/ocean to flow North and East in our waters.
If you ever go out to swim anywhere along our Texas coast, maybe you wade/swim out a hundred or two yards, and when you wade/swim back to shore you find yourself a hundred or two feet to the East or North from where you waded/swam out.
1. It(the permafrost comment) was a joke. Calm yourself.
2. It seems like the problem with the BP spill was not lack of regulation, but failure to follow regulation. If a company doesn't follow a regulation, we don't need more regulations, we just need to enforce the regulations on the books, kind of like immigration law. We don't need amnesty, we just need to enforce our immigration laws. But back to the spill, if Barry was half of a leader, he would have done a heck of a lot more to stop the tar balls from reaching the shore. He wanted the tar balls to reach the shore and destroy the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas and Florida coasts. That way he can push for an end to offshore drilling. It suits his leftist agenda.

They didn't follow regulation because we don't enforce regulation (and because regulation was scaled back during the Bush administration.)

You do think he's a God, don't you.

Bullshit.

He's not a leftist. President Obama is very much a centerist.
And you know it. You fake Christians need to stop bearing false witness against your neighbors.
I know you went to public school. I'm sorry. I did too, but fortunately I did learn to think for myself. Your comments are good however because they save me from watching Keith Olbermann. I can see what you have to say and know exactly what Olbermann is saying.

Just be glad you don't have the oil production in your waters like we got it down here.
I wish you could see the sands of the Florida panhandle as how they used to be, it was even prettier.
Aww..I bet that was nice! Thanks for checkin out my pics! :)

Thanks for thinking of me with the Handy quote. :D
