Goodbye summer (at least in your area. It will last here another month or two), hello football season!!!!

And thank you Detroit! (I heard that the only reason we have Andre Johnson is that Detroit decided not to draft him in the pick before ours)

Stan,

Don't thank Detroit, thank Matt Millen.

Lions are lookin "good", baby! Don't count em out! Heading down to opening day on the 19th! ROAAARRR!!

Nestor, Who's Matt Millen?

Linda, yeah baby, at this time, Detroit has as much of a chance as any other team. Don't let *ANYONE* take aWAY the pre-season from you.

Wins for MSU, UofM AND the Coogers. Good start!!

Stan Rosenthal said...

Yeah, U of H won like 60 something to 20 something?

Unfortunately, Rice lost (though it's not a disgrace to lose to Texas.)

Houston's 2nd. pro football team just won (the only city that has more citizens here than New Orleans, is Houston)!!!! Wasn't really pretty, but great teams find WAYs to win even when not at their peak.

But still, you got to admire Farve. The guy is something else.

And our 1st. pro football team won as well. Kind've in a rather impressive manner.

Linda, what's up with all the Detroit teams getting nailed with ridiculous calls/rules?

Stan Rosenthal said...

But you got to admire Peyton Manning (even in his loss to the Texans, he got over 400 yard passing.)

IMHO, the solution for a rule change is, like that the ground cannot cause a fumble, the ground certainly should not be a cause for an incomplete pass.

I'm pretty sure Matt Millen was the GM of the Lions for all of those years that they picked receiver after receiver. (I could have the wrong name though, but either way, their awful GM for all of those years is who you have to thank Stan) I was sure they were going to pick Texas Tech's Crabtree two years ago when they got Stafford. Tough call last week with the TD being taken back.

Nestor, oh.

BTW: bad news on the U of H Cougars front. We lost our starting and back-up quarterback in our loss to UCLA this past weekend. At least the Texans are looking like something else these days ...
