I was thinking that maybe the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior band probably should have tried to run it in for a touchdown instead of kicking a field goal. Maybe that's why they suck. That...and being called Rainbow Warriors.
Technically, a REPEAL of DADT would meant that it goes back to the pre-93 rules of Ask and Tell. And if you lie and are caught, you get a dishonorable discharge. What happened was a further loosening of the rules and destruction of good order and discipline in the combat arms units.
But, like you said, they will be called, "Rainbow Warriors."
I guess it was inevitable and actually I think it was the correct thing to do. But, if any sexual behavior effects unit cohesion (gay, straight or otherwise) it should be dealt w/ post haste.
I do however draw the line at General Barny Frank.

Yes, I like the Redemption Isle idea and I'm glad that the quitters don't necessarily get to be on the jury.

BTW, my take on DADT: It requires soldiers to lie, a direct conflict with their oath. Of course it needed to be repealed.
