Happy New Half Year!

So tomorrow is July 1st. Half of the year is over. Usually around the first of year we promise ourselves improvements in our lives in the coming year. Whether it's finally painting the bedroom, or working out more...we have some sort of goals in mind. I realized tonight that the first half of this year has come and gone without much improvements in my life being made. Now last year was swell...I'd be lucky to have a repeat. But I'd like to think that every year can be better than the last. And really, there are plenty of things I could do to make myself a "better" person than I was last year.

(Was it the banana split I just had that sparked this?)

Tomorrow is New Half Year Day! So, I'm treating it like January 1st...with goals in mind, a positive attitude, and motivation. Pass the champagne.

Maybe you'll start a new trend here.

Well, went to my grandmothers last night and brought her into town (she had fallen in her garden 2 weeks ago). At the time they thought it was just bruisin, but x-rays yesterday showed a fracture.

So, got her to Methodist late last nite and they're operatin this afternoon around 5. I'm confident everything will go well, but at 92 there's always alittle risk.

She's made a pretty tough stuff to walkin around w/ a cracked hip for a couple a weeks. Doggone emergency room docs just can't seem to spot fractures in x-rays. Same thing happened w/ little S awhile back.

'Preciate any prayers.

And we're not! Wahoo! It's..ok, my weather station says 85, but my Weather Channel desktop weather on my computer says 80. So we'll say it's in the middle somewhere...and partly cloudy. Lovely. D's got the boys out golfing. (Yes, they have little golf clubs.) We're leaving for the cottage tomorrow after work. Think we're going up to Traverse City on Friday, for the fireworks and then the Blue Angels are doin a show on Saturday up there. You know what that means, dontcha?? That's right! More pictures!!! (I'm thiiiis close to pickin up a new camera tday at Costco before we go. It's a great deal, not sure I can pass it up.)

Here's something for ya'll to try. Don't forget to look for the stats after you get your score. (I did.) I got this from WAMK who left TH and has his site at typepad.

TWC desktop never does match up, does it? First time I've heard the grogs at nite in awhile. Mmmm...rain.

Operation went like clockwork. Three screws, outta the hospital by fri. Which is good, cause big shindig at her place sat.

Fireworks ban here ('cept in "safe zones").

Oh, good. It's funny how the big parties are still at grandma's isn't it? Mine quit Christmas a few years back. Seems hand making her own ravioli and sauce got to be a bit much for 25 people. Huh? What's the problem? So now we're a dish to pass at my aunts...and the funny thing is, my nonna STILL brings the pasta for 25 people. In the make-up, I guess.

I got the liqour one too, for some reason. It just made sense.

You know what I hate. I hate it when I fall to sleep, then wake up a few hours later and can't go back to sleep.

Reck, Methodist Hospital (at least here in Houston) is excellent. They've been my parents primary emergency hospital for quite a few years now, and the length of their lives is a testiment to their abilities.

Luckily, my parents have/had Medicare so they could afford it ...

Linda: HHNY!!!!

Cool quiz. I got a 26, though I misread one of the questions. Shoulda been a 27. I guessed on a couple though, educated guesses, but guesses nonetheless.
