Just one more...I promise

I ordered this pic off the GB website. (They had their own person taking pics.) I thought it was kinda funny. I think this is what they mean by "beaming". sheesh.

I got it. How bizarre! Too bad all I have is microwave popcorn, or I'd try it. I wonder if it's hot...I guess it must be.

I'm skeptical as to whether or nor this is true.

Are you still in myth buster mode?

According to Snopes, it is....

False.

Geez, pretty soon I'm not gonna believe ANYTHING anymore. Sort of a drag.

That's deep, man. Really deep.

Did you check out Willy Gilligan?

Anonymous said...

I was just watching something on t.v., and it reminded me. Ya know what I've always wanted to do and probably never will? Be a mascot.

Or I mean some kind of dressed up animal in a parade or something where you can be really goofy w/out anyone seeing who you are. I came really close to bein the Easter Bunny for a fundraiser once, but I couldn't make it. Wouldn't that be fun, or am I crazy...

RecknHavic said...

Do we really meed to answer that.

My son was a mascot in SIMS 2 on the puter this week, I'll ask him what he thinks.

He sais, "let me have the computer back".

Maybe you should just go to marti gras.

Big day this saturday...

The Havic's annual garage sale. EVERYTHING MUST GO!!

Anonymous said...

D's a big garage sale guy..."garaaage...saiiiilin!" I'm not a big fan of goin to them. I've only had one, but it was a biggie, we made $500.00. Mostly baby stuff before we moved.

I'll take that tacky lamp y'all are sellin. The one w/ the horseshoe you got from Scooter, bless his heart. :)

RecknHavic said...

I'd sooner sale one a my kids than the horse shoe lamp!

Actually, got some good stuff that we've been hangin onto. I'd rather have more room.

Antique dinnin rm table (that I just refinished). Doubt anyone will pay the askin price, if not gonna list it on ebay.
Never bought or sold there but I did set up an account. Pricers are rather high there imo. Ever done it?

Anonymous said...

I've never sold anything on Ebay, but I've bought. Generally a good experience, but I did get screwed on a poker table once. Payed and never recieved..didn't respond to emails, etc. It was early on in my ebaying experience, so I didn't know ebay will "guarantee"...

Anyway, just be careful when buying. Check their comments from other buyers and look for red flags. Don't know how to sell.

Anonymous said...

Reg. prices on Ebay...depends on what you're lookin for. I've bought a couple CD's, UGG boots, jewlery (not of serious value, just beaded things),and a "Mrs. Tea" (a tea maker)...all really good deals.

RecknHavic said...

Lookin to sell, mostly.

Was scrollin through Wii's, 360's, PS3's..dude, I got the wheels turnin. Took us a week or more to find a Wii, wheels still turnin here...

RecknHavic said...

Mrs.Tea tea maker...well, la tea da..

RecknHavic said...

Ok, wheels turnin rather slowly now..

As opposed to Mr. Coffee...get it?

You might wanna try Craig's List to sell. More of a local deal and probably easier.

RecknHavic said...

Never thought a CL, that's a good idea.

Went to the library yesterday, tried to find that James Herriot book you recommended but they didn't have it in. I'm on a waiting list. Ended up w/ 3 chick lits..was looking for one a bit more substantial, but no luck.

Oooh! UFO sightings on Larry King tnite!

RecknHavic said...

I know he looks like one, but Larry King ain't an alien. I cked it out on Snopes, just to be sure.

Very funny. I'm telling Larry.

Don't know if this is real, either, but it made me teary. Check it out.

RecknHavic said...

Found Cute Overload (and it was) but enterin the http you listed did nothin.

Anonymous said...

Funny, it worked when I cut and pasted it into the url.

Oh c'mon Mr. Tough as Nails...not even a lump in the throat??

RecknHavic said...

What the heck is "pastin to the url"? Seriously.

We're still freakin pricin stuff. It never ends.

So we run to the store earlier (and stop by Mickey D's drive thurof course). The totlas $7.11; I give the girl 10 bucks.
She hands me back 89 cents and closes the window.
I tap, ash opens it up and I say, "you still owe me a couple a bucks". She takes the receipt back and disappears around the corner.

She comes back, opens the register and hands me a dollar and closes the window.

Again, I tap. She opens the window and I say, "sorry, but you still owe me a dollar". Then I go on to explain the math to her. She says she asked her manager and he said the correct change was a dollar and 89 cents.

You don't wanna know what I then said.

So, I get my other dollar.

Gerson : "Wall-E" and Adam Smith

Found this review of WALL-E at TH, 'case you want to see a positive conservative review of a movie. Don't know if you can url this (still don't know whaty that means).

Anonymous said...

Gee, you didn't put the buck into the tip jar? That's my latest beef. There's a tip jar EVERYWHERE. And I think you left out the best part outta that story, but I'll let it go.

Cut and pasting the http...
Hightlite whatever address you want to go to (like my corny lion video) by left clicking right before "http" and dragging to the right to highlite the whole address. Then right click and click on "copy". Go up top to the URL, the address window, click on that. Then right click and press "copy" or "paste", and the http will show up in the address window and you can either "enter" or press the green arrow GO key. Let me know if it works, eh?

10 hours of sleep here!

Anonymous said...

And I used the term incorrectly.

The URL is the address itself, (www.blah blah blah) not the window you put it in. So I cut and pasted the URL, not TO the URL.

(And Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is a compact string of characters used to represent a resource available on the Internet. It's a noun, so you can't URL somthing. :) )

So if the link you're tellin someone to go to doesn't highlite on it's own, and you can't just click on it, you highlight it (copy), and paste it in your address window so you don't have to type it all in yourself. I'm over explaining, aren't I?

Have fun garage salin' tday! T would like that little stuffed animal on the table, B's lookin for Pokeman cards, D'll take those coasters with the ducks on em, and I'll just smile and nod. My simulated stop at the Havic's sale.

RecknHavic said...

Did the url thing and it worked (thanks for that tip).

Wow, that was very powerful. Snopes cked it and it IS legit. My eyes did get alittle watery; beautiful thing that reunion. Glad I got to see it.

RecknHavic said...

Garage sale was a bust...as in I'm bustin a move cause it went so well! Got rid of a lotta stuff and the rest we took to Goodwill.
Yes, lotsa stuffed animals; but sorry, no Pokemon or duck coasters. And no, the table didn't sell.

Hello Craig's List...

Anonymous said...

Glad it went well...must feel good to get rid of stuff.

Went to a bday party tday and saw this saying framed in the bathroom..thought you'd like it:

"Germs and Jesus are everywhere. So wash your hands and say your prayers." :)

Anonymous said...

Found out tday that one of my best friends is in the hospital w/ either severe liver disease or failure. Not sure if she'll see her 40th bday. I talk to her on the phone about 3 nights a week and it's painful to know she's not at home, tucking her boy in, and waiting for my call.

RecknHavic said...

Dang, I'm sorry to hear that Lin. I'll certainly be praying for her and her family.

Stan Rosenthal said...

I trust that your friend has Medicare, Linda.

Anonymous said...

Thanks R, me too.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure why I'm always compelled to answer you, Stan. Medicare?

Stan Rosenthal said...

You've never heard of Medicare?

It's something that the government does. And though there's fraud, it works.

Anonymous said...

Good news..looks like she'll make it. They're bringing her out of sedation on Tues. Can you imagine goin to emergency on Wed, and waking up on Tues.? She's gonna freeeeeak.

RecknHavic said...

That's really great! Miracles happen. Sure, the advancment of medicine played a huge roll (and her spirit to live); but I believe in the power of prayer too. Probably a mixture of the two.

Either way, terrific news.

RecknHavic said...

Stan says,
"Medicare?

It's something that the government does."

Simple minded liberals believe that govt magically produces the funding for what's needed. They fail to realize that the money comes from the people (thru taxation).

Anonymous said...

I might go w/ you on this one.

Well, I was just confused cuz I always thought Medicare was for those 65 or older.

Anonymous said...

Been checking Padre weather...says it's gonna be hot and humid. WHAT?! No one told me it was gonna be hot and humid! Forget that!

We're thinkin about booking a trip on a replicated pirate boat that goes on Laguna Madre for a 3 (ok,2) hour tour. I'm thinkin I should put my hair in pigtails and bring my pie recipes...just in case.

RecknHavic said...

If the 1st mate's name is Willy, you may be in trouble.

Really tho, weather should be bearable. No triple digits from what I understand.

Anonymous said...

"Bearable" is relative. :)

Did you open an account on Beliefnet?

RecknHavic said...

Beliefnet-no

Craig's List-yes

Anonymous said...

Well then there's an alligator wrestler w/ your name over there.

Did you refinish the leaf? You didn't mention that. :)

Anonymous said...

Good lookin table, btw.

RecknHavic said...

Thanks.
Leafs (2) go on outside of main top (they set underneath main top when not in use). Wasn't a need to refinish leafs; top was worn which is why I re-did it (matched up stain color pretty well, is I say so myself).

Surprised you found it, good job.

RecknHavic said...

So maybe I'm slow (ok, I am), but how does Ebay and CL make their money?

For chuckles, ck out the free stuff lists at CL, interestin descriptions.

RecknHavic said...

Wait a minute, do you mean BN or Pogo for the alligator wrestler?

Tho I think my Pogo account is expired (for now).

Anonymous said...

Never thought about it. I think Ebay charges the seller a nominal amt.

The 5 gallon paint containers behind the table sealed the deal.

Free stuff? I'm there!

Anonymous said...

Nope, BN. Why are you an alligator wrestler on Pogo? ;)

Anonymous said...

Why would you bother w/ CL to give away old shoes? Goodwill or garbage.

Anonymous said...

I like the lady who's giving away diapers cuz her kid grew out of em before he could use em. She must buy in serious bulk.

RecknHavic said...

The free stuff reasoning is pretty funny. Some people.

Cked ebay and they do charge fees and little fees for listin extra pics, ect.

RecknHavic said...

Never signed up w/ BN (I don't think).

At Pogo (tho I've let my account expire; too much wasted time playin those games) I described my occupation as an alligator wrestler. That's weird.

Anonymous said...

Well you're there, Steve Irwin. Doesn't look like you posted anything, but you've got an account. Maybe it's a sign. ;)

Funny quote of the day came from D. (I think it's innocent enough, I thought it was pretty funny.)

L: Hey, tnite you wanna cuddle up under a blanket, pop popcorn and watch a good thriller?

D: (pause) Can we be naked?

Lol...sheesh.

Just noticed you added pics to TH. Cute how little S has her hand on your face..very sweet.

Actually, probably the best possible solution that's been thrown out there, is to make Medicare available for every age.

RecknHavic said...

She's a sweet kid.
In fact, just her and I home tonite (big kids went to H-town and S stayin w/ gma). We've had fun, she's finally asleep.

And that's where I'm headin...by cracky.

Anonymous said...

So I was tryin to get to sleep last night and I got to thinking...how come we don't sneeze in our sleep? Does our nose tickle and we just don't know it cuz our brain's sleepin? And if we do wake up sneezing, is it because we weren't in REM sleep when we felt it?

RecknHavic said...

You should ask your youngest; I'm fairly certain he can come up w/ an answer that makes perfect sense.

RecknHavic said...

OK, got a bizarre response to CL advert. It goes.."i will like to know if item still for sale? Please send picture."
Uh..there's already a 2 pics and the e-mail is from Fresno. Don't think I'll respond to that one.

Anonymous said...

Ok, I asked. Youngest couldn't come up w/ much, oldest said "because when we're sleeping we get sub-conscious messages and those messages don't include sneezes." Fair enough.

Anonymous said...

Fresno, CA?? Yeah, sounds like a dead end. I considered messin w/ you on CL, but figured you could have one place on the net where you don't have to hear from me. :)

RecknHavic said...

I think your oldest nailed it.That's certainly a better answer than I coulda come up w/.

You shoulda done it.

RecknHavic said...

So now they've decided they want the exterior done in Austin and they want me to start it manana. This is good tho (means int not ready yet). I told em there's no way for me to get to inside this week and so they haven't scheduled floorin and/or furniture yet.
I'm hopin I can be done w/ outside by thurs (we'll see) so we can make a drive down fri; may take you up on meetin somewhere shy a padre (we'll be day trippin it).

Linda said...

I dunno what to think...that seems like a lot of driving for you just for the day, even if we met in Corpus. I don't want you to worry about it if it's not workin out.

Get a room! :)

RecknHavic said...

Actually, Corpus is very doable for a day trip, Padre, not so much. If yall are serious about the tour thing, that sounds like a plan. Really, I just don't want to mess up yalls plans. Gettin a sitter is an issue for us right now w/ big kids gone, that's why we'll be day trippers.
