The Wheels on the Bus

Ahhh...the first day of school...time to dust off the lunch boxes and sharpen the pencils! (Originally I'd posted some pictures of the morning events, but then a little birdie told me that I may have tmi on the www, so I doctored them a bit.) Anyway, same difference...

Palin! Palin! Palin! Palin!

Yes, the build up was intense and she hit it outta the park. Great speech, tough broad.

RecknHavic said...

It said page cannot be found.

Linda said...

Yep, she did a good job...good for her! I'm startin to think you're right, this bein a good pick for McCain. Gosh knows the campaign needed some kinda shot in the arm.(Obama's still gonna win, btw.)

RecknHavic said...

It was a Reaganesque. I like her.

Here's my thoughts on the whole dealio.

If McCain wins (because of age and health) he serves one term. This would set up a Hillary (she could make the case of see I told ya so regardin not gettin the nomination) vs Palin (as a settin VPw/ would be repub front runner) and you'd have two women runnin for prez. Or It's Palin (conservative are instantly and solidly brhind her) vs an incumbent Obama. Either way, Palin's prez in 2012.

Cuda!!

Linda said...

Hmmm...interesting scenario. We'll see.

Glenn's close to an orgasm on the radio. Calls her speech 'conservative porn'. ha ha.

RecknHavic said...

I'm thinkin Beck is liken her message.

Saw him on CNN (I always watch the liberalest broadcast) last night complimentin Wolf Blitzer. Tho, I actually think Anderson Cooper is pretty fair for a lib journalist.

Linda said...

Well shoot, I woulda come up with a speech like that a long time ago if I'd known that's what it took! ;)

AC always seems fair to me. I think it was hard for anyone to disparage that speech last night. Olbermann tried his best.

Linda said...

GB was just talkin about how the media confuses conservatives with republicans. ie..'conservatives in the White House for the last 8 years'. Took me awhile to get that too...till it was spelled out for me. :)

RecknHavic said...

Yeah, Uberman compared her to Doloris Umbridge from the Harry Potter books (trust me, it's no compliment).

Speakin a a/c, ours is bein worked on as we speak. They're cleanin the coil. It's been rather hot these last few (5) days.

Ah, you get that whole republican not necessarily a conservative thing now do ya ;)

RecknHavic said...

I see that Kwame is steppin down and payin $1 million dollars restitution. What do yall pay your mayors up there anyway?

Linda said...

Apparently too much. Course I'm sure he gets his money from other places, too. He's a thug.

Good luck w/ the ac. Hate to tell ya (like a have to)...doesn't look like a cool down for you for awhile. We're at 69 right now...niiice.

Tomorrow's venue is outdoors, rain possible and no umbrellas allowed. I thought McCain was against torture?

Linda said...

Headin to choi...see ya later.

RecknHavic said...

Good luck grass hopper.

A/c is fixed. Headin off to trabajo myself, later.

I heard about the Palin/Umbridge thing. Olbermann is a loser AND a moron. But here's the (un)intended? consequences of his statement. Don't know how many of you have read 'Order of the Phoenix', (and subsequently 'Deathly Hallows') but Umbridge is a tool. A powerful witch, who will use anything to gain power, to include breaking the law by using Veritaserum, Dementors and the Cruciatus curse on students. If you are unfamiliar with Harry Potter these are all extremely bad things. She (and Minister for Magic Fudge) was so blinded by her lust for power, and crippled by fear of losing power that she refused to see that Voldermort had returned, to devastating consequences. Umbridge could be compared to Queen Jezebel of Israel. Comparing Palin to Umbridge is a bad thing.

Linda said...

Lol Nestor...you're now the official go to guy for all things Harry Potter! The sad thing is you know his comments like that one, and comparing her to Reese Witherspoon's character Tracy Flick from "Election" weren't off the cuff. He didn't pull that outta his bum listening to the speech...he had that ready before he even heard it...guaranteed.

Linda said...

Hey wow...sounds like O'Reilly finally snagged that interview w/ Obama! He's been complainin about him not coming on his show for a long time. They're showin pt. 1 tnite.

RecknHavic said...

Great call on the HP comparison Nest. Uberman is an idiot. I think L is right as well, totally prepared remark from the Big Dufus.

C/o Obama on O'Reilly: McCain pulled all his commercials and made no statements the night Barry gave his speech. Definitely was not politics as usual.
How does Barry repay the class move...by goin on the conservative channel and doin an interview. What a class-less piece a work B Hussien is.

Linda said...

They did make sure to say in the promos that it won't interfere w/ the speech...as O'Reilly's on earlier than the speech. But I hear what you're sayin.

Linda said...

Well, T hasn't liked his first two days of school. :( So far he's described his fellow boy classmates as delinquent, bad seeds, obnoxious, inappropriate, and not meeting expectations. I'm not even kidding. (Sort of a classic first born.) I'll keep my eye on it, but I'm thinkin he'll live.

RecknHavic said...

The boy's got quite the vocabulary. I bet you're right tho, it'll work out.

I just hope O'Reilly doesn't pull any punches ;)

Linda said...

I think O'Reilly's in a bit of a tough spot. He's known as a bully, so he can't bully too much. But if he isn't tough enuf, he'll get grief from his viewers. It'll be like the Hillary interview, which I thought was fine.

Linda said...

omg...Kwame's on the local news giving his good-bye speech before he goes to the pokey. You'd think he'd won a bloody Oscar...thankin a bunch of people. D's havin a fit...called him a "scoundrel". lol

RecknHavic said...

Such language! Scoundrel indeed.

Thought O'Reilly was pretty tough on him, I like it. Looks like they're gonna milk it into next week.

Curious how McCain's gonna do. Heard they're evening up in the polls; for what that's worth.

Linda said...

Tivoed O'Reilly. I'll check it out after McCain's speech..Cindy talkin now. Had to watch eviction night on Big Brother. Oh crap...did I say that outloud? I've been keepin that a secret for months!

RecknHavic said...

Seriously, BB :(

I'll try to overlook that.

Any thoughts on McCain's speech? He's a better debater than a speaker right?

My thoughts are Palin vs Obama in 2012.

Linda said...

Ha! Let's hope so. I'm thinkin makin speeches off a prompter isn't his stong suit. I've seen him do townhall type things on CSPAN, and I gotta say I was impressed. But not good for the general populus (who (maybe) watch the convention and not townhall meetings on CSPAN.) aka...normal people. But it should be about policies anyway...

Linda said...

Yeah, you try and overlook that and I'll to overlook...well..forget it. ;)

RecknHavic said...

I hafta say that it was one of the worst speeches I've ever heard at this level. yes, he does well on C-span, but like you said, this ain't C-span.

Linda said...

I'm laughin chasin you around the blogisphere...

RecknHavic said...

And I thought I was chasin you. It's kinda like tag.

Linda said...

lol...you're it!

Nestor said...

I worked tonight but I wouldn't have watched McCain (if I had cable) as the Giants were on. Go G-Men!

It's funny, McCain seems to suck in front of a teleprompter, but when you ask him a question off-the-cuff he's usually very impressive. Obama's great in front of a teleprompter, but he sucks off-the-cuff. There's no teleprompter when you're making decisions in the Oval Office. Advantage: McCain

Linda said...

I agree w/ you Nestor, but we have to take into account the ratio of suckage. I'm sad to say that I think Obama sucks less off the cuff than McCain speaking off a teleprompter.

RecknHavic said...

Yes, it was a horrible speech.
Painfully bad.

Nestor said...

Rick Warren: When does life begin?

Senator (hopefully that's all) Obama: Uh, well, what you uh, have to uh, understand, err, is uh, that question well uh, it's uh, you know uh, it's, it's uh, uh, well uh, it's uh, well it's above my pay grade.

Nestor said...

By the way, is there a pay grade higher than President of the United States? Last I checked, the President was the most highly paid government employee. As someone who wants to be leader of the free world, you should have an answer to the abortion question, even if one of your staff members makes it up. Hopefully, you have a deep seeded conviction about it, but come on, why was Obama not prepared for that question? If he's not prepared for that question how will he be prepared to lead the nation in a major war? (if that's necessary, but I pray that it isn't)

RecknHavic said...

He didn't answer it because he's pro-choice.

Nestor said...

No Reck, he's pro murder. But if you choose to not murder your baby, he's OK with that too...for now.

Linda said...

Why is it when I read 'pay grade' I see 'gay pride'? I must be dyslexic.

Nestor said...

Well I'm sure if you asked Obama about 'gay pride' he'd have an answer on the spot. I guess 'gay pride' is not above his pay grade.

RecknHavic said...

Not sure what you tried to text, didn't go through.

Linda said...

D tried sending you a video clip...no biggie.
