Fright Night

Just a couple pics from tonight's festivities. D once again scared the mess outta people. This year he dressed in all black w/ a spooky mask and laid in the bushes. It was hard to see him, and if you did, he looked fake. After I walked the boys around, I helped by standing on the porch w/ the candy, acting all happy, luring them in closer, then D'd jump up yelling. I swear this one teen..I dunno. I almost felt sorry for him. It was like something out of 'America's Funniest Home Videos'. I've never seen someone startle like that. He saw D, so he was gettin real close to get a look at the fake body in the bushes, and when D jumped up, the kid jumped back and then stumbled about 5 steps backwards. Hilarious. See D laying on the left of the porch?

I thought these kids as McCain and grim reapers waiting to take him were really funny!

Funny stuff. I considered doing a post called Friday Night Frights. We live about half a mile from the High School and there is nothing but farmland between the football stadium and our neighborhood. As I was sitting, drinking beer and handing out candy to the ten kids who came in the hour and a half I was out there I was jammin' out to the band.

Really sad night, last year I didn't buy so much candy because and we had to break way in to Ryan and Isabella's stash in order to stay open for business a little longer. Tonight when children 8, 9 and 10 showed up I was giving them handfuls of candy. I'll probably take most of it to work this weekend. We (OK I) can't have that much candy laying around.

It's tricky, cuz you need enough for the trick or treaters, and there's no way to know how many you'll get. But then you get a ton from your own kids. I buy the big bag from Costco, and usually have some left over. Then I have the kids stuff to deal with. I freeze it. But it doesn't keep me from eating it!

We were set for candy. But, little ne wanted to hand some out before we set out; so, I ck our supplies after the first two groups a kids and apparently she was given it out in hand fulls cause half our supplies were depleted. We made it tho, we just don't get that many. maybe a dozen groups.

Well cr*p, mine's turned into a freakin project!

Had to take a fresco taco bell tacos break tho. Not too bad and only 150 cals ea.

I've dropped 12 lbs these last few mo's btw. Really liken all the veggies and the built in excuse to grill.

Wow, good for you. I'm jealous..feel like I've gained 12 myself.

I was surprised at how easy the cobwebs came off the bushes. Hmmm...mine was a cinch.

I'm down to everything BUT cobwebs. Actually, I did one a my famous thin things out and rearrange the attic dealios.

Smashin pumpkin update: Saw another house a street over who got "hit" They had a McCain/Palin sign (or I should say did) put it was torn up. The thing that really ticks me off (besides the whole destroyin our pumpkins; tho there goin in the trash) is that whoever did it came into my freakin yard.

A few weeks back my mothere's street got "hit"; all the M/P signs were grabbed.

I look at it this way, if a political sign is on public property it's fair game (I've torn down my share); but not on private prop.

You sound like an ADD cleaner upper like me. Before I can store this, I need to clean the closet. And oh look! The closet floor needs vacuuming! While I have the vacuum out, I'll get this rug in front of the door...

Yeah, people takin your stuff isn't cool. Political signs or not.
