The Villages is a community about an hour north of Orlando, FL for older folks. There's a lot of Dearborn, MI people who go there in the winter...that's why my folks went down not last March, but the year before. It's actually pretty cool, lotsa stuff to do. They advertise a lot in MI cuz people fly south.

Apparently. Well. I'm really torn. I feel like I should be supportive and see how he does. I was pretty upset last night. I'm really nervous about what could happen over the next few years. We need Norm Coleman, Saxby Chambliss, Ted Stevens and the guy from Oregon to win their races so the Republicans can maintain filibuster capabilities on the most radical legislation. Also, Lieberman will probably be getting the boot by Harry Reid, and caucusing with the Republicans. Maybe the conservatives can swing him on his more liberal views.
I know what you mean by feeling torn, tho it's probably easier for me than for either of you guys. I think the person I feel worst for is Reck who won't get to see Palin anymore. :( ha ha.
I'm choosing to be supportive and see how he does. I have a feeling he's gonna govern more center than extreme left. And I do think the country as a whole needed this. Maybe not everybody in it, but as a whole. I really felt relief today. That back and forth, right/wrong, Dem/Repub thing was gettin to me more than I realized.

I just spent an hour and 15 minutes on the phone with a Tivo troublshooter, trying to figure out why I had no volume, after switching t.v.s and re-hooking up Tivo. I think I got it sorted. Bad news is, because cable went all digital, I no longer have a dual tuner Tivo box, which means I can't watch one show and record another. Which again means, I may as well get the DVR through my cable company where I do have that capability, and quit my subscription to Tivo.

Well, if it'd snowed fri nite where we were it would,nta surprised me cause it was coooold. REALLY cold! Guess I've been readin observed temps wrong, cause it says it was colder last nite, but fri nite was definitely colder. Seriously cold. 39 degrees cold; which, when sleepin in a tent is freakin cold! So, the boneheads that we are, we didn't have sleepin bags till last nite (Walmart specials).
Other than the frost bite, we had a great time. Did all our cookin on the campfire (except for heatin water w/ the propane cooker).
Oh wow. That IS cold. How can you go camping without sleeping bags? Isn't that against, like..the 10 commandments of camping? (I think it was #4..thou shalt not camp w/ out proper sleeping bags. Don't quote me.) Didn't you ever watch The Brady Bunch when they went camping? THEY had sleeping bags. Shoot even Alice remembered and she can be a little ditsy.

Well, everyone had an air mattress (except me, they're too soft) but we were one short (extra camper) so I gave the boy my sleppin bag. He was the only one who didn't freeze that nite. My folks came too, but they stayed at a motel at nite (city folk).
It was fun, we're gonna go again in the spring instead a waitin till fall. Thinkin bout spring break time (hint hint). Ohhh I know we gotta still come up that way first, just thought I'd throw that out there. Tell Dave there's fiiiishin...
Speakin a which, we didn't have much luck. 3 bass, 1 perch all about four inches lond. We tried top water and under water lures; night crawlers, shad, crappie bait, prayer...nothin worked well. What sucked is they were breakin the water constantly. Very frustratin.

We hung curtains in our room this weekend. Took a pic, emailed it to my mom and she emailed me back informing me that we hung the bracket upsidown. Doh! I'm kinda scared about switching it, cuz I don't think the screw'll go back in as nicely the second time. But if I don't try, I'm gonna look at that thing every day thinkin I messed it up. I hate when stuff like happens.

Get some(plastic)anchors and insert them into the screw holes (you may have to widen the holes a bit) to rehang hardware in same place. Just tell em you lookin for some wall anchors at Lowes. They come in different sizes (match em up to the screw size).

Minivans. I never thought we'd get one, but we did. It's alright. We can load everything we'd ever need in there, plus if we have family coming into town, everyone can fit. We bought it just in time too. A week later, the radiator went out on the car. I thought about getting the radiator fixed, but the car also needs 4 tires, and about $600 worth of other work. So $1700 of work on a car that's on it's way out isn't looking too good. We'll need to find something soon, but I hate having payments. We haven't had one in a LONG time, I'm not really looking to have two.
Anyway, I'd check out a van. Not sure what Ford has to offer. We have a Gr. Caravan, which is nice. The Odyssey's are nice. It's a Honda though, I'm not sure if that's legal in Michigan. If you don't like it, go with your gut. Also, the new Quests are pretty nice but it's a Nissan (see Honda comment)
Checked out van at Chrysler. Too expensive. Ford doesn't make vans anymore. NO foreign cars for us. I'm leaning toward the Ford Escape. Just went and sat in one. Seems a bit roomier than the Jeep Liberty and it's about the same price. The Edge is more cuz it's bigger.
I thought this was sorta funny... I was in the grocery store tday and I was walking up and down the pop aisle, clearly looking like I couldn't find something. So this guy workin in the aisle goes,

Alright Nestor, I went back and watched every 3 minutes till I found the bit at 2hrs. 10min. in. Yes, he got up and yelled out the window. Now the camera didn't show him at the window cuz it's aimed at his chair. But you can see light coming from his right side (window) and he went over there, so I'm sure he did it. And while the search for the bit sounds tedious, I really must thank you. He was wearing a black turtleneck and looked simply delicious, so it was my pleasure.

Mrs. Fix It at it again. Got the sound workin. I went downstairs and brought up the subwoofer (yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds). It was truly a 'lift w/ the knees' moment. Then I brought up 2 other tall, skinny speakers and managed to get it all hooked up. I pressed Play to test it, forgetting that I had a Glenn Beck DVD in, and his theme music started blaring. I, of course, starting dancing..I was so freakin happy. If I'd had a football I woulda spiked it.

Spike the football! Was under the friday night lights tonight. My friend's son was playing tonight in a playoff game. The wind was ridiculous. The other team punted a few times. Most of them were about 10 yards, and then out of bounds, and one went about 15, but came back the other direction 5. Oh, there were a whole lot of kickoffs that went out the back of the endzone too. My friend's son played DT and they were double-teaming him which left someone unblocked (on the rare passing play) and the QB got his clock cleaned a few times. Good game. We only stayed until half-time, but it was 28-7, so I'll assume everything turned out alright.
Hope thay won Nest. S called me last nite to give me an update on Rockets/Spurs gm and w/ 6 mins left Hou was up 11. I told her they'd probably blow it. Next call I got from her confirmed it. Spurs won.
I just looked up the score, 42-7. The other team just couldn't run the ball, and with the wind being as brutal as it was, there was very little passing.

It was hard for me to imagine anyone camping this weekend. It was a winter coat, scarf, furry boots (that's mostly just me) weekend.
And it's currently SNOWING!

Well, if it'd snowed fri nite where we were it would,nta surprised me cause it was coooold. REALLY cold! Guess I've been readin observed temps wrong, cause it says it was colder last nite, but fri nite was definitely colder. Seriously cold. 39 degrees cold; which, when sleepin in a tent is freakin cold! So, the boneheads that we are, we didn't have sleepin bags till last nite (Walmart specials).
Other than the frost bite, we had a great time. Did all our cookin on the campfire (except for heatin water w/ the propane cooker).
Sucks comin back to reality.
Oh wow. That IS cold. How can you go camping without sleeping bags? Isn't that against, like..the 10 commandments of camping? (I think it was #4..thou shalt not camp w/ out proper sleeping bags. Don't quote me.) Didn't you ever watch The Brady Bunch when they went camping? THEY had sleeping bags. Shoot even Alice remembered and she can be a little ditsy.

Well, everyone had an air mattress (except me, they're too soft) but we were one short (extra camper) so I gave the boy my sleppin bag. He was the only one who didn't freeze that nite. My folks came too, but they stayed at a motel at nite (city folk).
It was fun, we're gonna go again in the spring instead a waitin till fall. Thinkin bout spring break time (hint hint). Ohhh I know we gotta still come up that way first, just thought I'd throw that out there. Tell Dave there's fiiiishin...
Speakin a which, we didn't have much luck. 3 bass, 1 perch all about four inches lond. We tried top water and under water lures; night crawlers, shad, crappie bait, prayer...nothin worked well. What sucked is they were breakin the water constantly. Very frustratin.

Went and saw "Madagascar 2" yesterday. Pretty funny actually. The king lemur is a stitch. I think you'll find some of it really funny.
Thinkin about gettin back into a minivan. I thought I was done with them 2 years ago, but if I can get a good deal (and I think I can compared to the Ford Edge, Escape, or Jeep Liberty) I may just have to do it. They scream "family!", but we do have one, so I guess that's ok. I was tryin to be cooler than a minivan, but maybe I'm just not. I'm not sure what to think. Think I'd better price it first, that'll help me decide.

A Wii, cool deal. As far as games go, I dunno. Ours came w/ a gm and there are probably additional games available (that come in a package deal) now as well. Only accessory we ever got was the steerin wheel thing (would like to get the rifle attachment for shootin gms tho).As far as age appropriate gms go..any a the Mario gms (Party 8 is good), Just look around I guess.

I was told it only comes w/ one controller, so to get another. Also heard they're 40 bucks, but you can get for 50, a controller and 9 sorta standard games. Probly do that.
We hung curtains in our room this weekend. Took a pic, emailed it to my mom and she emailed me back informing me that we hung the bracket upsidown. Doh! I'm kinda scared about switching it, cuz I don't think the screw'll go back in as nicely the second time. But if I don't try, I'm gonna look at that thing every day thinkin I messed it up. I hate when stuff like happens.

Get some(plastic)anchors and insert them into the screw holes (you may have to widen the holes a bit) to rehang hardware in same place. Just tell em you lookin for some wall anchors at Lowes. They come in different sizes (match em up to the screw size).

Minivans. I never thought we'd get one, but we did. It's alright. We can load everything we'd ever need in there, plus if we have family coming into town, everyone can fit. We bought it just in time too. A week later, the radiator went out on the car. I thought about getting the radiator fixed, but the car also needs 4 tires, and about $600 worth of other work. So $1700 of work on a car that's on it's way out isn't looking too good. We'll need to find something soon, but I hate having payments. We haven't had one in a LONG time, I'm not really looking to have two.
Anyway, I'd check out a van. Not sure what Ford has to offer. We have a Gr. Caravan, which is nice. The Odyssey's are nice. It's a Honda though, I'm not sure if that's legal in Michigan. If you don't like it, go with your gut. Also, the new Quests are pretty nice but it's a Nissan (see Honda comment)
Checked out van at Chrysler. Too expensive. Ford doesn't make vans anymore. NO foreign cars for us. I'm leaning toward the Ford Escape. Just went and sat in one. Seems a bit roomier than the Jeep Liberty and it's about the same price. The Edge is more cuz it's bigger.
Mission accomplished on switching the curtain rod brackets. I managed to do it w/out having to use anchors. I rock.
After spending 90 minutes on the phone with the Tivo lady last week, I disconnected it today. Ain't life grand. Cell phone peak minutes, too. Mmmmmm.

I was in the grocery store tday and I was walking up and down the pop aisle, clearly looking like I couldn't find something. So this guy workin in the aisle goes,
"Can I help you find something, ma'am?" And I say,

"Ohhhh...no. I'm really just the Pepsi guy."

Alright Nestor, I went back and watched every 3 minutes till I found the bit at 2hrs. 10min. in. Yes, he got up and yelled out the window. Now the camera didn't show him at the window cuz it's aimed at his chair. But you can see light coming from his right side (window) and he went over there, so I'm sure he did it. And while the search for the bit sounds tedious, I really must thank you. He was wearing a black turtleneck and looked simply delicious, so it was my pleasure.

I got a couple movies for the weekend, and then I remembered I can't get the volume to work on the DVD player since we switched tvs and rehooked everything up. Arg. I got Kung Fu Panda for tnite, but the boys got invited to the neighbors for a sleepover, so it'll have to be another time.
Talkin to my friend in L.A. today about Prop 8 and that led to him telling me that his friends ("married" guys) adopted a baby. He calls it a "gaybee". I don't know why I find that so darn funny but I do.
Mrs. Fix It at it again. Got the sound workin. I went downstairs and brought up the subwoofer (yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds). It was truly a 'lift w/ the knees' moment. Then I brought up 2 other tall, skinny speakers and managed to get it all hooked up. I pressed Play to test it, forgetting that I had a Glenn Beck DVD in, and his theme music started blaring. I, of course, starting dancing..I was so freakin happy. If I'd had a football I woulda spiked it.
Hey Lin, you go girl. S here. Reck workin at he**s kitchen tonite. I once fixed my sons playstation with a butter knife and a flashlight. It was a McGuyver moment. I too did a happy dance.
Spike the football! Was under the friday night lights tonight. My friend's son was playing tonight in a playoff game. The wind was ridiculous. The other team punted a few times. Most of them were about 10 yards, and then out of bounds, and one went about 15, but came back the other direction 5. Oh, there were a whole lot of kickoffs that went out the back of the endzone too. My friend's son played DT and they were double-teaming him which left someone unblocked (on the rare passing play) and the QB got his clock cleaned a few times. Good game. We only stayed until half-time, but it was 28-7, so I'll assume everything turned out alright.
It's an Italian restaurant. Which is where I'm headed back to in about half an hour.
Cold here this mornin. And sure enough, we got that wind Nest was talkin about last nite. Sounded like the bldg I was at was gonna blow down. Intense.
Hope thay won Nest. S called me last nite to give me an update on Rockets/Spurs gm and w/ 6 mins left Hou was up 11. I told her they'd probably blow it. Next call I got from her confirmed it. Spurs won.
I just looked up the score, 42-7. The other team just couldn't run the ball, and with the wind being as brutal as it was, there was very little passing.
