Party #2

So then there was Christmas party number 2. (I may as well fast forward through these.) This is at my brother's house.

Notice the obnoxious telescope on the left..and the picture above the couch he took with his telescope attached to his laptop.

He's measuring the 34 inch belt my mom got him with a measuring tape... cuz it was too small and he's in denial. :)

T's a little freaked out that they got the Wii.

Furnace filters are the classic Christmas gift.

Possibly the biggest dinosaur big ever published.

This was at my aunt's, but my mom just emailed it to me and I liked it.

Well, let me say thanks so much for my new addiction.

Sure, start me off slow w/ "hey, ever heard a Google Earth?", then it's "aw, come on, just click on it once. One time's not gonna hurt ya", to "did ya know you can click and hold "n" to spin around 360 degrees?" when finally..BAM!!..you're hooked!

Thanks...thanks alot.

You're welcome. I knew you'd like it..it was really buggin me that you couldn't get it to work right.

I was just reading GB's Insiders' reviews of his book and show. Interesting. I'm about a quarter of the way into the book..I need to put aside some time to hit it hard. I think it's one of those books best read in 2 or so sittings, for "best results", if you know what I mean. I may even start over so it flows better.

Ya know what bugs me? When publishers make the sides of the pages different lengths..sort of a frayed look. I wonder whose decision that it. It's done for asthetics, but it makes turning the pages a b*tch.

We're off to the DIA for the modern art thingy. Hopefully I'll get some good pics to share! (Not sure if they let cameras in, tho I think so.)

RecknHavic said...

They don't ;)

I got the Sweater book as a gift. Guess i need to finally read his last book as well. Just haven't been into readin anything a noteable length in a while. Tho Sweater is a short one.

Afternoon.

Forgot to mention I had my first panini on the way home yesterday. Even tho the ol tummy was iffy, couldn't pass up the opportunity. You didn't say it was a GRILLED sandwich. Would have to say I'm a fan of em now.

You couldn't have cameras in the exhibit, but you could the rest of the museum. It was cool. Only one Dali, tho..bit disappointing.

At Schlotskys? They looked good on line. Why are you a grilled fan, or vice versa?

Speakin of food, we dropped off the little ones and are off to a new Mexican joint.

Man are my dogs barkin. I'm fortunate that I never need to wear heels: a. I don't have reason to get dressed up often, and b. I'm tall, I rarely need to be 5'10. But today I decided the best place to wear heeled leather boots for the first time in a year, would be the art museum...where you walk around...for hours. I've made better decisions.

The Mexican place was very yummy. Sort of a posh place, but the food was good. Chick fajitas for me and ench's for D. Now it's time for wine by the fire...

Sounds fun.
Yes, I suppose height has it's advantages.

Boots...a museum....

Glad to hear yall found some decent Mex.
About the panini, are there grilled and ungrilled? Got it at are fave travel stop, Buc-ees.

Cold tea and cool a/c here.

Yeah, I'm glad we found it,too. But it's really nice. I don't want a really nice place. I want a 'go in your jeans and sweatshirt' place. Put it this way...if you order the guacamole appetizer, they come and make it next to your table. Now..I dunno. Are we tryin a little too hard here? Am I at Benihanas? It's Mexican food. It's cheap, it's easy, it's not fancy. Maybe it's me.

No, I think they're all grilled.

Did you hear about our weather here? It's bizarre. I don't know the official high, but we're at 55 right now. You can SEE the moisture rise off the snow.
Ok, Linda. That's pretty much fog.
You can SEE the fog...
Of course you can, that's why planes get grounded.
Whatever. You follow me.

RecknHavic said...

Your in rare form tonite. Got me crackn up. Yep, suppose that is alittle Benihanaish of them. And yes again, that would be fog.

Most enjoyable thing I've heard today musta been when I was pickn up D tonite from work and she said, "Man, work makes you tired."

Yes...yes it does.

Linda said...

Ahhh...lessons for the youngens.

Here's my most enjoyable thing I heard today...

We're at the art museum and I see I sign advertising the Norman Rockwell exhibit coming in March. And I say,
"Oh, that's the Norman Rockwell exhibit that Grandma O. wants to see."
And Ben says, "Cool! So we can climb on it?"
Me: "Noooo...RockWELL, not rockwall."

There was a guy behind me that just looked at me and said, "That was REALLY funny."

RecknHavic said...

That WAS really funny. B's a funny little guy.

About your "grilled" question. I just think it makes stuff taste better. has the ham and cheese panini and not the italian (cause they said it had a spicy sause) wjat w/ the upset tummy and all.

Ok..ok...this is taken WAT too much a my Google earth time.

Back to the Alps!

Linda said...

Enjoy the Alps Mr. Von Trapp. I need to sleep before a "ray..a drop of golden suuunn" rises too early for my liking. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good bye...

RecknHavic said...

au do..au do..to you and you and yooouu...

Linda said...

Yes, grilled sandwiches taste better. Of course it may have less to do with the the actual grilling than the butter slathered on the bread so it doesn't stick. Otherwise, toasted sandwiches would reign supreme...and they don't.

Linda said...

And that was nice of you to bid adieu to all of my personalities. They thank you.

RecknHavic said...

Now you know why I'm always sayn "yall".

Ha! I like the way your mind works.
