Arlington Cemetery

I can't say enough about Arlington Cemetery. It's a must see if you're going to D.C., and really I feel D.C. is a must see. The views from up there are amazing. It's moving, it's beautiful, it's..it just should be seen and felt by all.

We happened to catch a funeral. Gun salute..the whole bit.

Kennedy grave and eternal flame.

It looks like these fellas are guarding something, but they were just standing around and sort of posed when I took their picture. I'm not sure why I was compelled to take their picture. They just looked so perfect.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. See the Capitol and Jefferson in the distance?

Taken from Robert E. Lee's house.
Pentagon
Just thought this was pretty.

Great pic of the sailors, even if they are a bunch of squids. ;)

Seriously though, those are some great pictures. You might wanna think about a career change.

Thank you!

The thing that really stands out to me in the picture of the squids...sorry..sailors, is the slice of Americana there. All different races, all American soldiers.

One of the things I remember most from the one trip I made there was the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The other thing I remember was the claustrophobic line goin up into the Statue of Liberty.

Linda said...

Well that's impossible cuz the Statue of Liberty is in NY.

Ok, here are pics. Gotta bball game for B, then Wings playoff, so won't see it on time.

D: Branden rew, Steven imm, Erinn out.
L: Steven rew, JT imm. Brenden out.

Crud. We didn't re-draft at the the merge like we usually do. Vacation screwed me up. If you guys want, we could do it after tonight. There will be 8 players left so that'll be perfect. Otherwise, it's gonna look aawwfully suspicious that I conveeeniently forgot when I'm in the lead.

btw..I didn't realize both of you have been there. Now I feel kinda silly posting all these pictures!

Nestor said...

Why feel silly? I haven't been there since '95.

Keep postn, been 28 yrs for me. AND what I meant was on our trip up THERE (we went to DC & NYC smart arse).

Yes, veeeerrryyyy convenient.

Ok, here's ours:
R-Erinn rew, JT imm, Coach out
S-Tyson rew, JT imm, Coach out

Geez! Why didn't Branden just tell Taj, "The plan is to keep EVERYONE safe...except for the 3 people Linda has left in her draft."??

Still watching...

SPOILER ALERT!!

Whoa. Did NOT see that coming. I thought Mad as a Hatter Coach was going. Dang..I kinda wanted that to happen cuz he's gotten so cocky. Not to mention he's one coo-coo dude.

Totals (including last week):
R: 31
S: 32
D: 24
L: 42

Wanna draft before next week?

Stopped at Quiznos tnite and they have something new..to me anyway. Have you tried the Torpedos? It's a foot long, but on skinny ciabatta bread..almost like hotdog bun skinny. It was AWESOME! Better than their normal ones, I think. (I looked it up, and the Turkey Pesto one is 650 calories including the cheese and dressing.) Highly recommended!

Your lead is lookin pretty stout (s may have a shot a ya). Yes, Coach is one dragon head short of a complete dragon. And that story...and the dodgin death 7 or 8 times...and the monk yoga that's only passed down verbally...
What school does this guy coach at anyway?

Not a big Quiznos fan here, tho the fam likes it.

Linda said...

Just try the Torpedo..it's different.

I know!! The "only passed down verbally/you can't find it if you google" killed me. Wanna take a guess at how many people rewound that and then googled it? :)

Have a question at Nestors for you both.

Linda said...

I forgot to respond..that's what struck me about the sailors picture, too, Reck.

RecknHavic said...

Unfortunately, The Dept of Homeland Security sees those sailors as a potential terrorist threat.

Linda said...

Yeah but did you see the eyes on that one on the far left? I'm just sayin...

RecknHavic said...

Seemed like your everyday, run-a-the-mill disgruntled malcontent to me.

God bless em!

Linda said...

Takes one to know one!

RecknHavic said...

I actually like the term. Consider me a disgruntled malcontent from now on.

But now I'm headin for some contentness...sleep.

gn!

I'm hoping these few days of warm weather and sun start to wake the trees!

Every year about this time I start thinking, 'what if this is the year the leaves just don't come back? What if the trees have had enough of it all?'
Maybe I shouldn't lose sleep over it.
