Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Admittedly, this vacation could have been better. Got up there Friday night, and Saturday morning of the 4th, D took the boys out skeet shooting. Ya know..a little father/son bonding. Unfortunately, it turned into mother/son bonding, when Ben wanted MOM hold his hand in the EMERGENCY ROOM to get his freakin NOSE STITCHED!!! (they actually decided to glue it closed.) It seems a 20 gauge is a bit much for the little guy...kick back knocked him down and the gun came down on his face.

After the ER, it was B's choice for lunch....

Sunday we got a nice thunderstorm..the ducks liked it.

We got a couple of hours of sun, but the winds were high. Roxie's tryin to ruin my tan lines.

The rest of the time was pretty much spent by the fire.

Sorry, I'da responded sooner to this thread but I was GLUED the Michael Jackson television coverage.

So many comments on this one...

Firstly, you gotta a problem w/ gluen wounds? I mean, things.

How many stitches did he need? If anyone asks him how it happened he can either say, "shootin accident' or "kick boxin"; either one sounds pretty tough.

I miss Kip's Big Boy!

People don't "tan" in shorts.

Tires in July are just WRONG!

RecknHavic said...

"i mean things"?

That shoulda read I mean glue is for gluen things.

RecknHavic said...

ok, tires in July are fine...fires, not so much.

I don't have a problem whatsoever with gluing wounds. Wish we had Dermabond when WE were kids! Much less traumatic. Dunno how many stitches he needed, cuuuuuzzzz...it got glued.

Lol..took me awhile to figure out what "tires" were in a picture!

Linda said...

Reg the tires..tell me about it. I did catch up on a lot of reading, tho. It's been unusually cool..just like Texas. Not one beer consumed on the boat. I'm a victim of disappointment.

RecknHavic said...

So was the ER visit just to make sure the wound was glued correctly?

We're expectin 105 manana w/ a heat index of 110+.

Ahhh...Mexi, I mean Texas.

Lovin this laptop btw!

No, no. The doc decides whether to stitch it, or glue it closed. Actually that guy I grew up with who's folks' place is next door, was up there, and he's a doctor, so I had him look at it, and he's the one who said he'd stitch it. So I was kinda surprised the ER doc wanted to glue it. But I'm glad we asked him, cuz we might have just butterfly band aided it, and he said that wasn't good enough.

Dang, that's hot!

Glad you're likin it! Faster?

Obviously, the idea is to do what will leave the lesser scar. My friend thought that because the edges of the cut weren't clean, (like maybe a knife cut), that he'd stitch it, but the ER doc seemed to think gluing would leave less of a scar. Ugh..my baby's face scarred. I'm gonna get that Mederma or something I see ads for on tv. Doubt it works, but I'll try it. Age is on his side, too.

When Tony was 15 months, he slipped in his footy pajamas and chipped his front tooth. I cried and D said, 'it's just the baby tooth..he'll get a new one!' Yeah, in 5 years!!! ha. Mamas take these things harder that dads, I think.

RecknHavic said...

He'll be fine.

ARG! It appears that when I paid bills before the holiday, I recorded it but neglected to actually send the money on line! Doh!

I just spent 20 minutes on line reading about Mormon underwear.

Alotta white tee shirts Im guessin.

Have I mentioned that I think I have a poison ivy or oak or sumac (you decide) rash on my arm? It's driving me CRAZY!!

Linda said...

R> "Alotta white tee shirts Im guessin."

Well they ain't thongs, to be sure!

Linda said...

REALLY sorry to hear about your dog, Nestor. Some seriously traumatic stuff, that.

Linda said...

Well, we're packed for camp!!

Linda said...

Well...Tony just ate a candy covered almond..ya know, the kind you get as parting gifts at weddings and showers? He almost immediately ran outside and threw up over the deck rail. Hmmm..it appears we may have discovered an allergy, (or at least an intolerance.) Weird thing is that he's had Hershey's chocolate w/ almonds, and Almond Chicken from a Chinese restaurant. I've got a call in to my friend from where I got it, in hopes to learn more about this toxic nut.

Nestor said...

I've beaten myself up about it a little even though I know logically it wasn't my fault. She's in a better place now, it was just pretty traumatic seeing her like that.

Nestor said...

Look, I know you're upset about the scar, but boys are supposed to get scars. It's one way to tell if a boy had a proper childhood. Then, when he gets older he can talk to his friends about how he got this scar or that one. Little scars are good. Plus I think they're a reminder to help you to be more careful.

Linda said...

I'll bet, N. Must have been awful.

I know, but on the face? Ok, ok. I'll live. I'm not really that worried, but initially it's what goes thru your mind. What you said reminds me of that scene in Jaws when they're all drunk, comparing scars. Ha.

RecknHavic said...

Sorry to hear about your pup Nest; really tragic. And you shouldn't blame yourself (tho you say you're not, it's hard not to blame oneself in instances like this). Freak accident.

Linda said...

Ok, after seein R's comment, I feel compelled to explain that my "I'll bet" was in reference to N sayin it was traumatic not to him beating himself up for it. I share R's thoughts on that.

There, I feel better. I hate when that happens.

Linda said...

Well we dropped Tony off at camp! I was fine till he yelled "love you! Bye!"...then I started crying. No, he didn't see me..it's all good.

Background with that: every time he leaves or I leave, he says "love you, bye". At night, he says, "love you, goodnight". He's compulsive about it..it HAS to be the last thing he says. If you say somethin after he says that, he'll say it again. Kinda weird, but I was a little like that at that age, too. So when he said it, it triggered somethin and I got all sad.

RecknHavic said...

Proud of you for holdin it together in front a him. I know this whole away from home at camp thing is tough. He''l do great tho!

On a liter note; spent mosta the day "day trading" just to see if I could do it. Pretty much broke even because of one trade too may. I do know this, people that day trade end up in an early grave.

Pass the prozac please!

Linda said...

Thanks. I didn't actually feel sad in front of him..it's walkin away that's tough.

Ben, (Mr. I'm Glad Tony Will Be Gone), keeps saying "I wonder what Tony's doing right now.." Ha. Knew he'd miss him..he can't fool me.

Please keep my neice in your prayers...she hasn't made enough progress in her cast, so they're re-casting her, snipping a tendon this time to see if it helps. ugh.

Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For quite a long time, I earn money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I make 2G daily, and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Visit my blog to get additional info.
