Gotta Rake?

This is what happens when I don't let D hire it out. (He just ran up to ACE to buy another rake...this errand can't be good news for me.)

The task looks daunting...

A little instruction may be necessary

Yes, this'll do nicely.

I've been becoming increasingly annoyed by the liberals who call the tea party attendees, "tea baggers". We know why...it's just needlessly derogatory. Well, I was just watchin Fox News and a repub senator (Steve King of Iowa)said "...democrats who are concerned about talking to tea bag people..or tea party people...".
What a dip wad. ~sigh~

Nestor said...

Apparently Steve King watches MSNBC.

Linda said...

Lol..apparently. Happy Birthday!

Reck, I forgot to tell you...Tony's gonna be living your dream next semester. He got the position of the Friday morning weather man on the WLE news team! (The kids do the news for the school on the T.V.s every morning.) Should be pretty exciting. He needs a name..thought maybe you could throw some suggestions our way.."Tornado Tony", etc. :)

RecknHavic said...

First off, that alotta freakin leaves!

How cool...and the weather guy no less! Tell him I'm jealous. I'll work on the name, somethin along the lines a Tony "The Twister" O********.

Linda said...

It was a lot of leaves. Got a dang blister. Today we do the pine needles up front. Weather is great here this weekend at least! :)

RecknHavic said...

It not bad here today too, gonna stay in the low 70s, maybe some rain.

Linda said...

51 is our normal high today and we're lookin at the possibility of 68 today. It's been really warm...the ladybugs are luvin it.

That reminds me...I mentioned a while back that we have a south facing door that the ladybugs love during an "indian summer" type day....and that they manage to squeeze in somehow. Anyway...I suck em up with a vacuum attatchment thingy..that one day a couple weeks ago that I was talkin about, I sucked up 57. I bothered to count so I had to mention it.

RecknHavic said...

That's quite a few lb's. Yor like some sorta labybugs bane.

Lol! That was really funny. I was wondering when Cartman was gonna get gray hair...and that Casey Kasem boy...hahaha. I enjoyed that...thanks for the tip, Nestor!

RecknHavic said...

I heard GB talkn bout a South Park where Cartman does GB. They played an audio clip on the radio, very funny.

Nestor said...

That's the one Reck. Carmen and I heard it the other day on Glenn's show, and then I watched the whole show later on. It was really good.

RecknHavic said...

Russell is fastly becomin a sur legend. I'm startn to pull for em.

Linda said...

I know!!!

Linda said...

Dang, that was pert near stressful! "It's just a tv show, Linda..breathe." This is so good!

AND, Russ still has the idol...

Linda said...

When I was tucking B in tonight, he asked me if I'd ever stuck my middle finger up by accident. I told him no. It's true...I've never done it by accident.

RecknHavic said...

LOL! I guess that's true of all of us. Way to be honest.

Watchn Flash Forward, it's pretty good.

Linda said...

Have yet to see Flash Forward. Guess at this rate, I won't. I feel like I haven't seen Lost in 2 years.

Saw Pirate Radio at the theater today. It was good..I enjoyed it. I earned a free combo with my movie card, and the tickets were only $5.00 each!! I think that made the popcorn taste that much better.

Are the Havic ladies jumpin this weekend?

RecknHavic said...

Never even heard a PR. Was it any good, whatever it was? % dollar tickets are cool tho.

Nope, Dev hadta work.

Have you been havin trouble commentn on FB? I cant get any comments to peeps other than the main board.

How bout some sur scores.

Linda said...

Yes, I couldn't chat last night either. I had a couple people chattin with me, though, but I couldn't respond..(which made me look like I was ignoring them). (New stuff at ft, btw, and new levels if you wanna check it out.)

Right..scores! Sorry.
Current totals:
R:56
S:60
D:52
L:62

And here's the deal..since we didn't re-draft at the merge to even things out, I'll negate the 10 points I got for the guys finding the idols to make us closer...so this score is without those 10 points. Still anyone's game!!

Linda said...

Watched 2008's How the Earth Stood Still tonight. Pretty bad. Not 'walk out' bad, but "that was really stupid" bad.

RecknHavic said...

"made me look like I was ignoring them"
I'm sure they're used to it.

Thnks for the scores. You should keep the 10 tho.

I really should plow those dead fields.

Sorry bout your flick.

Nestor said...

I heard "The Day the Earth Stood Still" was a global 'warming' flick. Is that pretty much it? Stop burning fossil fuels or we'll destroy humankind with our environmentally friendly death ray?

RecknHavic said...

Yall been reading about the "hacked" IPCC Koyoto Treaty based e-mails? Pretty interestn.

Linda said...

Nestor,
Yeah, the premise was that humans are destroying the earth and that it affects other planets, so someone was sent here to see if humans could change their destructive nature, or if humans should be destroyed so that the planet could live. The thing is, that was the plot when the original came out in 1951. They didn't talk specifically about global warming (pollution, etc)...just the destructiveness of the nature of humans...and really they didn't even touch too much on that.

Nope..haven't heard about the emails. Tell us about it, Uncle Reck!

RecknHavic said...

Someone hacked (perhaps a whistle-blower) the e-mails of prominent GW scientists and downloaded them onto the net. These weren't just any climate scientists, they're the Mann's of the GW world, whos "science" is the basis for the IPCC's Koyoto Treaty, Al Gore's book and the up coming Copenhagen thingy.

Wow. It's really disheartening that there are bad apples in every bunch, isn't it? I swear, you can't trust what anyone says.

Andy Rooney just lectured me on how to make my Thanksgiving dinner. Get out of my kitchen, Rooney! (er..my mom's kitchen. Whatever! Get out!)

Got the Christmas lights up today. It "felt like" 42...perfect! Actually had to take my coat off, I was getting too warm! I was gonna not turn them on till after Thanksgiving, cuz I didn't want to appear tacky to the neighbors, and then I remembered...I AM tacky! Oh they're a glowin! :)

RecknHavic said...

Wow! Now you're onea the "first lites on in the neighborhood" people. You've changed L...you've changed..

I thought about puttn the lites up today as I MAY be paintin a tan'n (of all things) place sat & sun after TG.

Glad you're atleast waitn till after TG to power-up.

We saw the Andy Ronney thing too & thougyht the same thing. What..are we supposed to churn our own butter? Geez!

Linda said...

R>Glad you're atleast waitn till after TG to power-up.

Hey selective reader! Try again!

Linda said...

Lol..yes! You're supposed to churn your own butter. And since we're gettin real, you DO live in Texas, so there's no good reason you shouldn't own the cow. Ok fine..maybe there's a city ordinance or something, but really....run down the road and find yourself a cow to milk to make your butter.

OH! Makin the Havic Cheese Pie for Tgiving!

Entertainment for the night:
SNL Obama skit.

RecknHavic said...

Yes, I'll read in more detail from now on.

Yeah cheese pie! I made mine last nite, gonna top it manana. Turkey's moved from freezer to ice box and fixn to make some corn bread and some bread crumbs. good to get alittle bit outta they way, especially since I gotta work tomorrow nite; which sucks!

There are no city ordinances against ownin livestock w/in the city limits in Texas.

RecknHavic said...

Wat to go SNL! That was hilarious!

Linda said...

"There are no city ordinances against ownin livestock w/in the city limits in Texas." Lol..of course there aren't.

Well, my dad fell on Saturday and got 7 stitches in his finger, (he'll be no help), so my mom is making the turkey and stuffing, and rolls, and my bro and I are bringing everything else! :) Gotta run to the store tomorrow for taters. Plus, I forgot that pie has a fruit topping..have to pick that up, too. I think we're buying a pumpkin pie from Costco..my mom heard they're good there..and big, which is important so we can take the leftovers up north this weekend!

Mind the garbage disposal.

Linda said...

Lol! That was very funny...and kudos to that gal's timing! She was great in that!

RecknHavic said...

Sorry to hear about your dad. tell your mom to be careful when makin the gravy, those can openers can be dangerous.

I'd suggest blueberry toppin, but that's me. Sounds like you gotcha alotta cookin to do as well.

I've heard their (Costco) pumpkin pies are good too, buy I'll never know as i don't eat it.

Actually, I'm banned from usin the disposal till friday.

RecknHavic said...

Lil S & I just mixed up a batch a cornbread. Alittle worried as the oven is smokin a bit.

Linda said...

Oh dear...a smoking oven isn't good. It IS par for the course, tho.

No pumpkin pie? I don't think I've ever had a pie I didn't like. Maybe rhubarb..but even then.

I did strawberry topping last time. Blueberry sounds good, too. Do they sell it in the freezer section? Don't know if I've seen BB topping.

Stop makin fun of my mom.

RecknHavic said...

BB from a can...yes, a can.

Awww...stickin up for mom, how quaint.

Good luck w/ the last sec pie btw.

Linda said...

I made the pie last night..BUT..after it was too late, I realized that I think I was supposed to use a mixer. That's what you meant by "mix...", isn't it? Well, I used a spoon and stirred..it was a bit lumpy when I poured it into the crust. There's no way this can taste bad, tho, so I'm not worried.

Having my second migrane in one week. Hadn't had one in a year, probly. I'd like to blame the stress of the holidays, but please. I have to mash a few potatoes. And I'd bet money on D doin it before I even get outta bed tomorrow. Startin to get my sight back to normal, now I'll just feel crappy. :(

RecknHavic said...

Dang, sorry to hear about the migrane; those suck! bHadn't had a real bad one in about 3 yr4s, but I do sympathize.

I don't use an electric mixer, I use a whisk Andy rooney'd be proud), so there's a few sm lumps.

Our pics:

Hope you feel better soon.

Oooh, John imm, eh? Cool, this'll be interesting to see. Are you guys gonna be able to watch it? We'll be home and watchin by then. Of course, Charlie Brown is on at 8, too.

Linda said...

Oh good...glad the mixer wasn't necessary. Can't wait to get into that thing.

Thanks, I feel better today. Unfortunately, Dave is laying on the kitchen floor with his back out. Not sure if he's gonna make dinner..he can't move. Good grief, we're a mess.

Have a great Thanksgiving to Nestor and Reck's families!!

And don't forget...if you can still button your pants, dinner ain't over yet! :)

RecknHavic said...

Dang, yall havin some Havic-type luck this TG. Remind D to ice. Glad you're feelin better.

I got the bird stuffed (w/ dressin) & in the oven at 9:30, all 17 freakin lbs a it; the smell is driven me crazy.

We prob will watch it late as my folks are here and we're plannin on doin some more Wii bowln & some Rock Band tonite; maybe some dominoes too.

They'll be no buttonin tonite.

Linda said...

Whew! Glad to be home. D didn't make it...just now got up off the floor. So tired..don't wanna think about packing for the weekend. So I won't..I'll chill and watch tv instead.
