Linda, both the Texans and the Lions are 3 - 0 in the preseason, and both appear to be kicking ass. Just remember that it was *ME* that first predicted the Lions in the superbowl this season.
Yeah, Lions are looking good. Too scary to get excited, tho. Lions fans are very cautious. Hoping they don't put starters in tomorrow for the last pre-season game. No injuries!!
Texans fans feel the same WAY, except like most teams, the Texans won't be playing any starters tonight (against your rivals, the Vikings.) Usually the 3rd. preseason game is when the starters get their playing time.
So-far, the Texans have gotten through the preseason without that many serious injuries, but Arian Foster (last year's leading running back) is out with a hamstring (2nd. time this preseason) and they should definitely leave him out of the lineup for the season opener against the Colts, no matter how well they think Foster is (whether Payton Manning is in there or not.)
We got 2 or 3 *VERY* capable backups @ running back.
Waaa, waaa, waaaaaaah. Have a great Labor Day weekend, guys. We're headin up north to ride what is hopefully our last hot weekend. Upper 90s today! Blech.
We're on the outskirts of tropical storm Lee. This is the first time this season I can say that it's not hot outside here.
We're getting a couple of drizzles every now and then, but the amount of water we're getting from this is nothing compared to the water (still) coming out of the ground due to water line breaks caused by the heatwave.
I heard that the last time the Lions went 4-0 in the preseason, they went 0-16 in the regular season. If true (I imagine Linda can speak to the accuracy of that), I certainly understand the reason 4 being cautious. Texans fans understand this (I mean, Debbie "Recky" Downer isn't totally incorrect in his statement.)
When BO took office unemployment stood at 7.8%, its now 9.1% (BO said that the 800 billion dollar "stimulus" would have employment down to 6.5% by Aug 2011)
Youth employment is at the lowest level since records were first kept in 1948.
Fiscal year 2011 will mark the third straight year with deficits in excess of $1 trillion. Prior to the BO presidency, we had never experienced a deficit in excess of $1 trillion.
America saw its credit rating downgraded for the first time in history under BO.
More than 44.5 million Americans are receiving food stamps, a 12 percent increase from one year ago.
Consumer confidence has plunged to the lowest level since the Carter presidency.
