Well, that was fun and filling. My rents did a great job as always and actually I was glad to see they took some shortcuts this year. The dinner conversation ranged from the story of my grandma's dad being tossed into the Detroit House of Corrections for violating prohibition, to legalizing pot. I know. Here are some highlights.
(Is it time for a turkey sandwich yet?)
While dinner was cooking, we got busy...
All was peaceful in G-ma's snow village..
Until the army men showed up.
I got to snoopin around and found this CAN of cranberry sauce in the bin...
And JARS of gravy in the fridge!

That's a nice lookin bird! About a 14 to 16 pounder I'm thinkin.
I love the tree house in the Christmas Village! I must have one.
Glad there was no collateral damage after the invasion.
Ok, CANNED gravy? Seriously?
What is it w/ kids and rolls? How many times did you say, "You can have another roll after you take three more bites of your vegetables"?
Me, atleast 4 times.
Happy birthday Nonna (how is that pronounced, big o or little o)?
She doesn't look anything like 92 btw.
T is a good big bro, I recognize the "hold". That's the grip one uses to let the other person break off the bigger piece. He's a good boy.
Did yall stuff the turkey? Can't tell in the pic.
Yall had "stuffin" I presume :)
I'm hungry.
Guessn yall are up north enjoyn those sub zero temps. Chunk a snowball at someone for me.
We got us a sick one this mornin. Knew something was up when youngest wasn't eatin yesterday at din. Had her a fever last nite. Why is it they only get sick on weekends and holidays?
Hey! Nope we're leavin around noonish.
JARRED gravy. They did add some real stuff to it. They didn't wanna bother w/ the whisking and adding...what is it? Corn starch? Anyway, considering they're 70, together they have 3 hands, and made the whole dang dinner, I support the jarred gravy. :)
No, I'm not sure why they didn't stuff the bird. The stuffing wasn't as good as in the past. Not sure what happened there. So actually, we had dressing, didn't we?
Long "o", like no.
Oh, and I had to stop from outright laughing when my mom pulled out the tupperware. Thanks.
Sorry, jarrrrred.
You can add corn starch if it's too thin. I hope they added the pan drippings. You MUST add the pan drippings. I do understand the jar tho, makin a rue is a b*tch.
Assume yall are by the fire, lucky.
Well, finished Scuzzi's last nite, what a relief.
Fixin to start Christmas decos; will take several days I'm sure. Gonna atleast do the lites on house, maybe a few trees today/nite.
Oh, they'll be pics at some point.
They added the pan drippings. Actually, I did. The baster rubber baster bulb gets so hot!
Snowing like crazy here. Almost in an accident on the highway..missed it by 2 cars. One of those domino effect ones, one hitting the next. Took some pics of the cabin..don't think I've shown it before, so I'll do a new post in a bit.
Ha! What the heck was I tryin to say there? Sounds like I need another drink. Let's try that again. The "rubber baster bulb". That's it.
