Not exactly a typical weekend. My sil volunteered to dog sit for a guy at work who has a 5 month old St. Bernard...Diesel. We weren't sure how it would go with Roxie.. we figured at first it might be tense, but after a few hours they'd be best of friends. Yeaahh...not so much. Roxie was pretty freaked out from the word go, and never got used to him. Mind you, the thing's a horse. I mean he coulda done damage just steppin on her, and she knew it. Basically we separated them the whole weekend w/ his cage and rooms.
Then for kicks and giggles we locked the kids in the cage with him. Ya know..cage match! (Oh, you woulda done it, too.) Deisel won. Got B right out of the cage in the last pic there.
Another highlight was B catchin the Little S bug on Friday night. Here's what he looked like about an hour or so before he blew chunks in the bathroom sink. I know...I couldn't get him to the toilet in time. Believe you me, it was tricky transporting. This was the first time we can remember B throwing up. He handled it well considering the first time is pretty traumatic.
That's pretty much the weekend in a nutshell. Oh and the leftovers were KILLER.

Sorry to hear bout B. Durn bugs. Actually Soph got pretty sick (tonsillitis w/ a staph infection in one a her limp nodes), scary stuff. From what the doc said there are different categories a staph infects (you can imagine how worried I got when I heard THAT word!) and this one responds real well to a certain antibiotic. It did, swellins gone way down, no fever today and she MAY go back to school manana.
Thank God for medicine.
It's not frozen enough to walk on yet, but by the look of things we should be good by New Years. (Next time the fam goes up..D goes up in 2 weeks for muzzleloading.)
As a matter of fact, I do sit by that fire for days. In the recliner to the right of the fireplace, to be exact. Course you have to watch out for Jimmy No Thumbs (or whatever his name was.)
Oooh wow. Yeah, B had a staph infection about 6 mos ago, and I was thinkin the same thing, and was told the same thing. Weird thing was his was in his finger. Who knows how that happened. Glad she's feeling better.
No school for the kids tomorrow, some teacher thing they tacked on to the weekend. We hit the funeral home tonight..somewhat distant relative of D's. I made sure to whisper to him that I do NOT want an open casket at my funeral.

Hung icicle lights and a couple a trees last nite; hung the snowflake. Gonna take advantage a some daylite and start on yard stuff, tho it's awful darn windy today. I figure by sat I'll be done :)
We had to quit it got so darn long. Ben ended up going, "If you wanna quit, waise yowa hand", with his hand in the air. It seemed like it could just go on forever. Pay me, I'll pay you, then you, then you pay me, etc. I kinda don't get it. Have you ever tried playing it with the dice they give you w/ pictures and numbers on it, that makes the game go faster? I'm gonna try that next time.

Hey, speaking of that...it's that time of year again. Yep, church time. I wanna go somewhere different this time. I need a denominational suggestion. This is what I'm looking for: Christmas carols would be great, and I'd like the kids to sit with us for the service, something more "traditional" like. My sil said Methodist. Any thoughts?
Not so sure "legalizin all drugs" is a traditional Methodist view; could be wrong. She sounds libertarianish.
If it's "tradition" you want I'd try an Episcopal (tho it can be a bit stiff shirted) or a Baptist church. Not sure about Nest's church, never been to a Church of Christ church. If you do go to one, don't mention ANYTHING about baptism, just to play it safe ;)
Most Methodists churches I've been to seemed traditional, btw.

Indeed. We have regular Clue, Electronic Clue and DVD Clue. But the DVD one never got going cuz we had prblms w/ it. Electronic is pretty good. Still a fan of the classic.

Sounds like we're goin w/ the minivan. Chrysler guy called tonight w/ a much lower monthly payment. The kids'll love it...it's a darn nice van. I had D call him back and he talked him down another $15 a month...I could never do that.
