Visit to Santa

It was time for our annual trip to Santa's lap today. Even tho the little one says "you know it's just a guy in a suit, right?".....there are still wishes to wish. B asked for an army tank and T asked for a life size dinosaur. (T let me know he's been askin for this every year.) Santa asked him "your life size, or mine?"

It was snowing hard and we listened to Christmas music there and back. Don't know about you all, but we have a station that plays it 24/7 already. Dare I say we're gettin into the spirit early.

These are the tykes 2001-2008. I didn't include the ones of T alone before B came along. I think my favorite is the first one, when B was only a couple months. I love his face, paired with the positioning of Santa's hand...
Ho, Ho,... HO!!!!

It is a bit early, but we didn't wait in line. That's really what it comes down to.

Hmmm...he does have a twinkle and a way. Just in case you're right, I think I'LL sit on his lap next year.

Looking back on it, I really should have figured out earlier that Dorothy's experience in Oz was all a dream. It's so clear to me now.

We got a similar channel, they started playin Christmas music in like June this yr.
So, any luck findin that dino yet?
Maybe you should just givem that pink alien.

June in TX...yeah, that's a bit early. Not sure "Baby It's Cold Outside" would work.

Lifesize dino..yeaahhh..no.

Did you start a fire? I see it's 53 now. Today was just nasty. I even dropped the kids off at the door of the mall so they didn't have to walk the parking lot. Before it turned to snow it was a hard rain.

Oh, so we're in the mall (and T has a little heights issue.) But he's handled the escalators before, so B and I go first and get on the down one. I look back and T can't get on. He's got a drink in one hand, his coat in the other and he's got himself sorta freaked out. So I start walking up the down escalator tryin to talk him down. Literally. I'm not getting any higher, just maintaining my position, figuring he'll get on eventually. Well my legs gave out before he did. I (we) had to ride down, run around to the "up", take it up to him and then get him on the "down". We were a sight for a number of onlookers.

A definite "parent" moment. Wish I'da seen it.Poor fella. He's had some "experiences" at the mall.

Ok, it's 63-24 w/ 4 mins left in the 3rd. Gonna go start a fire before I gotta go p/u the girl from work.

Linda said...

63? What, did they switch to basketball??

Is microfiche still in existance?

Linda said...

I don't remember what else I've told you. Was it the throwing up after he saw Santa 2 years ago? Cuz on the way there today he says, "I hope I don't throw up." I swear, they don't forget anything.

That first pic is hilarious. On our way home from the football game we realized Delilah (or maybe just the station she is on in Austin) was playing the Christmas music 24/7. It's great now, especially since last night and today were so cold. But I think I'll get tired of it by Thanksgiving. I thought about firing up the fireplace, but we had friend over for dinner and put the kids to bed before our friends left. Ryan loves the fireplace, so we usually let him stay up when we have the fireplace on. Maybe tomorrow if it stays cold.

We renewed our Costco membership today. It went up to 50 bucks???? Anyway, rice has gotten so expensive at HEB, that I wanted to see the Costco price. The 5lb. bag of Jasmine rice at HEB has gone from 3.50 to 7 bucks over the last year or so. Costco price for Jasmine rice, 30 bucks for 50 lbs. That'll last us a long time, but it's worth it. I almost picked up 'The Christmas Sweater', but resisted. I'll probably pick it up in the next few weeks. It was something like $10.89. Good Deal!

I'm thinkin there's some drag time.

Linda owes me a Dr. Pepper!

We stepped up to the "executive" membership awhile back. You get 2% back from your purchases and they give ya this cool black membership card. Oh yeeaahh!

It was the zinc.

Nestor said...

Santa #3 looks like one of my 'Gallagher' uncles. He wouldn't've bean IIIrish byany chaance wouldhe?

RecknHavic said...

Haven trouble postn (anyone else) keep havin to redo my comments. Anyhow, fixin to plant it in front a the fire.

gn yall.

Nestor said...

Yeah, I'm having the same posting problem. I posted about the exec membership, but not gonna do it again. gn!

Linda said...

Yeah, I'm havin troubles too.

He does look a bit Irish. Probly had a few belts before the kids came in. Gives em that 'red nose' look that he's supposed to have. What nationality is he supposed to be anyway? I mean, IS he. Nordic?

Linda said...

Nite all.

(10 bucks you fall asleep in front of the fire.)

RecknHavic said...

Mornin.

Almost did, my son (who was playin w/ his new PS3 that he had just got w/ his Mickey D money)said "Dad you're fallin asleep" so many times that I started to get p*ss*ed and I went to bed.

Wonder if the comment thing is fixed. Well, here goes...

Linda said...

That's funny. Thanks kid. Feels good to doze off like that, doesn't it? Better than bein in bed I think.

Snowing here! Think I'm gonna blow off the Lions for my parents tday. Do some shoppin and eatin. I'm kinda on a mission to get the shopping done early. One year I was done by Thanksgiving. (I had a surgery scheduled for early Dec. and didn't know if I'd get out much after that.) Anyhoo, it felt great havin it all taken care of, so I'm shooting for that feeling again. Hey! Barry Manilow! "I've been up...down...trying to get that feelin again...all around.." Oh I know my Barry Manilow. Seen him in concert. Twice.

Linda said...

Went to the mall closer to my old house today and guess what? "Background check Santa" is still there! Ben sat on his lap, but I was watchin Santa closer this time. ;)

RecknHavic said...

Twice, and before Christmas no less; is that legal?

Home earlier today, feels nice.

Linda said...

It's legal. Actually its recommended if you're tryin hard to get something from him. No pics the second time, tho. That's just indulgent. :)
