Christmas morn

I had to include the morning of! Especially cuz my kids still like flannel footy pjs, and it's so classic Christmas morn. B's tank was a big hit, as was T's Guinness Book of World Records 2009 edition, w/ 3D glasses (thanks, Costco). I got not one, but two pair of pink flannel pjs, and I only asked Santa for one, so I guess I was very good this year. (As if there was any doubt.) Of course Roxie got her stocking of goodies.
We left carrots for Santa and he left his thank you note on the screen saver of the laptop by the fireplace. Apparently he's a techno geek..who knew?

So the whole 4 day celebration wrapped up- yeah, yeah...family, love, kids, food...I'm talkin gifts here...and they're mine, all mine!!!! (try to contain your jealousy.)

Most peculiar gift: a box of Cheese Nips (they're hard to find you know.) Runner-up has to be a box of bendy straws.

Gift I can almost guarantee was not opened in Southern TX: long johns.

Most practical: Target gift card (I'm already workin on sellin it.)

Gift that got the most feigned excitement: again...the Cheese Nips.

Now that I think of it, the bendy straws may be the most practical.

Sounds like it was a good one. Neat seein all the pics of your 3, or was it 4 days a Christmas. You gotcha a nice lookin family Linda.

Gift a yalls I'd most like to play w/: that tank.

Gift I'd most like explained to me: bendy straws. On second thought, I can see that. There's onlt so many clever stockin stuffers that Santa can come up w/, eh?

Unfortunately the cloudy weather has kept us off the lil S's telescope (tho it cleared tonite but she's asleep). Promised I wouldn't look through it first.

Guess I'll hafta charge the ol dig cam battery and post some pics. Kinda been enjoyn doin nothin these last couple a days.

Pass the cheese nips, please.

Oh no. The bendy straws didn't show up in my stocking. They were a full out, completely wrapped, gift under my mother's tree. I unwrapped a box of straws. At least she put the Cheese Nips in a gift bag.

Thanks. You coulda played w/ that tank had you made arrangements for New Yeeeaarrsss. just sayin.

Well, IF we did come up there we'd hafta dig out all our winter shorts. that's just too much work.

Wrapped bendy straws, eh? Your easy to shop for.

Linda said...

Ha..winter shorts. Fleece lined I'm sure.

I'm under a little pressure to ice fish now that I have fancy long johns. No really, they make fancy long johns. I know...I didn't know either. They're Duofold Varitherm with a high performance base layer.

High performance? I guess long underwear now has to perform. The package says it "wisks moisture away from the skin for quick evaporation". Why am I sweating? It's cold outside. If I'm sweating, they're performing TOO well, I say.

Got 4 hangman's right in a row; new personal best. Broccoli stumped me.

RecknHavic said...

Yeah, I'll look in to those.

Was talkin w/ my grandma the other day about her growin up in Minnesota. really got my attention when she mentioned there first car w/ actual WINDOWS. How do you drive around in sub-zero weather w/out freakin windows. She said they had this curtain thingy that blocked the wind. yeah, sounds toasty.

Hmmm...wonder if Duofold Varitherm makes shorts?

Linda said...

Lol! Wow...actual windows, eh? I didn't know they ever made cars without windows. Just assumed it would be part of the original design, as opposed to a "eureka!" moment years later. Makes me cold just thinkin about it. Oh who am I kidding...I was cold before I thought about it.

Well, they actually hada a "pop-up" type front window w/ curtains on the sides, prior to windows all around. Course they hada a horse team prior to that.

Personally, I'd like to know who thought up glass. Glass amazes me.

...I know..

I have a feeling it was more discovered rather than invented. Sea glass and all. But then they had to figure out the manufacturing of it.
Whatta ya know! It IS fascinating!

Oh, I forgot to mention we watched Indiana Jones xmas night. D gave it a 4, me a 6. The fact that it had alien superior beings in it bumped it up a point. ;)

Linda said...

Well the Lions make NFL history
0-16.
Seems like yesterday I was sittin at opening day with high hopes having come off a 4-0 pre-season. Unreal.

RecknHavic said...

The Lions may be the only thing worse than that joke of a Indiana Jones movie...maybe.

And that's funny, the aliens made me bump it DOWN a point, into the negatives.

Havin a Lost Season 4 marathon here today. Gift for S from kiddos.

Linda said...

I dunno what you've got against aliens. What have they ever done to you?
Ohhhh...now I get it.

Was season 4 last season? That's a great idea..gettin caught up.

RecknHavic said...

Yep. And only 2 seasons to go.

I don't want to talk about my close encounter...ever!

Linda said...

I'm actually surprised you remember it..they're usually better about that.

My poor dog. (No, I don't mean the t-shirt.) D bought this laser pointer light thing that shoots a red laser beam. I thought mostly cats were into stuff like that, but she really got into trying to chase it. Problem is, when he stops playing with it, she still sits there, where it last was..just waiting for it. I feel so bad. I told her it wasn't a bug and to just move on, but..she's a dog. I don't think she gets it.

RecknHavic said...

Keep talkin to her, maybe she'll get it.

I just stumbled onto a Lost episode, from 2005. It's so old news it's hardly worth watching. Shannon and her step bro? It seems like a different show all together now.

Mornin.

Hope the Mich power outages aren't effectn yall. Course, if they are you're not readin this.

Linda said...

Nope, no power outtage here. It's crazy windy tho, so it doesn't surprise me.

So I bought D Scene It; Seinfeld for $40 for Christmas. Then on Christmas night, we pop into Blockbuster for a movie, and lo and behold there's the game...on sale for $20! Did the switcheroo today..I'm very pleased with myself. The malls were a bear today! I thought people might actually working on a Monday..but I forgot we're in Michigan and no one has a job here.

I just read in Yahoo news that a scene from Indy 4 made a "dumbest movie moments" list. ("Just one scene?", says Reck.)

When he survivs a nuclear bomb by getting in the lead lined fridge. That WAS pretty dumb. We especially liked when gets out and watches the mushroom cloud like it's a summer thunder storm rolling in.

RecknHavic said...

Nice job on the ol switcharoo.

don't get me started on THAT movie.
